Someone was explaining to me the differences in running a motor in unsensored and sensored a while back but i dont remember what he was saying.
I did try running in sensored only mode for one qualifier yesterday. The car felt punchier, but lap times were the same as in hybrid mode. Post run temperature at the motor did jump from 145 to 200 however. I was running a 118 spur with a 53 pinion in a losi R for an FDR of 4.07. I'd have liked to try another run in sensor only mode with a tooth less pinion, but I didn't have access to a 52 (PRS, are you listening??)

Went back to hybrid mode for the main, but ran a 112 spur with the 53 pinion for an fdr of 3.87 and ran my best lap times of the day, 4 tenths better than in the qualifiers. Didn't get the fastest single lap of the main, but I did manage the best 5 lap and best ten lap averages of the main. Motor came off the track at 185. I'm going to try a 114 spur next time out to get the fdr to 3.94 and hopefully drop the temp just a bit... maybe gain a touch more infield punch too.

This was with a Redline 17.5 on my RS. Endbell timing maxed in sensor mode, backed down in hybrid.

I just want to say THANKS to the guys at Tekin... Your products and support are second to none.

My tekin came out of my car in a hard impact and the case broke. I called tekin to see what they could do for me, i was blown away! I thought i was gonna have to send it in for a new case but they told me they'd sell me a replacement case for $7.50! i could not be happier

Not only is this is current best brushless ESC it is backed by the best customer service in the USA.

I could not be happier with my RS-Pro's once I got them set correctly with the Futaba radio. Works great in my WGT car and now have one (based on the size) able to fix my Darkside Mx2 car.

But I need some help on a roll out in 1/12 scale with a Tekin 17.5 and the RS-Pro. Smaller track (60' x 40') some techinical but a lot of open/fast if the car is set up correctly.

Thanks in Advance

It's important to remember that when you crank up the timing on most motors they have more (sensored only) timing than what the hybrid mode has at full timing. I always end up gearing down a little with the speedo set to sensored only.

Fred is very right.

If you crank your motor timing and don't regear you're not going to get the right speed anywhere on the track. You WILL get more heat and less performance.

Your timing could have gone up as much as 10 degrees with no gear change. Imagine doing that with a competition brushed stock motor...you would have wasted it.

Definately re gear and check temps/speed.

What do you guys recommend for 10.5 12th scale, on carpet, RS or RS Pro?

Thanks in advance.

I installed my second RS Pro in my 1/12 scale car this evening and ran into an issue that does not make sense.

I'm using a futaba and have the servo set on reverse, just like my other one. Anyway, it finds the radio, gets center, full throttle and full barke, then comes to the single lite in the center. You can pull full throttle once and it works. Then the next time, it just kind of sputters and then stops. If you re-set it the same thing happens again.

Anyone else have this issue? How did you fit it?

Thanks in Advance

RS will do you just fine.

the RS Pro is only needed for a modified application (TC or 4wheel off-road)

I've run the RS all the way to a 6.5 in 12th so far and didn't have any temp problems. You can drive a 6.5 like Jo Jo the circus clown and it will only light up 4-5 led's on temp.

I'm going to try running a 4.5 this weekend with the RS and a very small (10mm) fan blowing on the posts. From what I've seen the RS is pretty tough even if you overheat it.

We want the 32bit version to be solid before we get into the 64bit version so we don't have to go thru twice the updates. Get the bugs out first, then we'll move forward, but it won't be in two weeks.

We're working on it guys, these things take time!
