on a 12 sec, 100' straight-track, my RPM ranges from 3200 rpm to 9200 rpm in 17.5 with 1 cell lipo; 3200 was the absolute SLOWEST section and it was only one corner for .2 to .3 seconds. The RPMS averaged between 5k and 7.5k This is with NO TIMING OR TURBO. Once I added 50 timing the end RPM jumped to 12,000+. I think I/we were under estimating the rpms our motors were reaching before v203 came along.

Here a sample of some data I got a week ago. This is the average throttle position and RPM comming through a big sweeper and then on the straight. The total time shown is 4 seconds. After looking at the data I see changes I should make in both the gearing and the timing.

That's what I was thinking several pages back when I commented on the data logger data.

Default Which way to go??

Gents i've had a few sessions with the RS now and and have ended up with the following settings for my club track which has a straight approx 25m - 30m long and a pretty flowing in field.

Start rpm - 2721
End rpm - 10001
Timing boost - 50
Turbo boost - 15
Delay - 0.1
Ramp - 3
Throttle pro - 3
Neutral width - 0
Motor- Roche Prince 13.5 ver 2 fixed endbell and not sure what the default timing is tbh
Fdr - 7.06
Temp @ 5min 60c

The car was awesome but lacking a little rip out of the corners, what i am wondering is should i decrease the end rpm or raise the start rpms and possibly drop a tooth or 2 on the pinion? Ran out of time so couldn't try it out tonight
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

your delay is to close go a little higher and drop a tooth or raise 2-3 spur, don't be afraid to gear down and try a little lower start closer to 2k

i have max timing hit middle of the longest straight. the rpm usually lags the timing by .1 or .2 depending on how hard you are geared. so I have mine hit max rpm about 3/4 of the longest straight.

your graphs shows me that you never hit max rpm, which means you have not hit max speed. if the end of your graph is the end of your straight, then I wouls gear down to allow the motor to completely spool. the thing that you will want to calculate is your speed with lower gear and higher rpm is faster then your current gear with a lower rpm. it is all about maximizing every thing the speedo can give you

Would you care to elaborate a bit about this? What is the data logger you talk about? What is the average throttle position measured in? Degrees? Percentage of overall travel?

Anyone know Cuff's set up at the Snowbirds in 17.5 TC? He is obviously fast and I'm running 17.5 on Sunday on a similar track layout. I've only run 13.5 with the new software so I am in need of help.

Use either of Cuffs' setups 17.5/13.5 that are already posted on the Tekin site. You will be plenty fast.

Thanks, i'll give that a try. With the current settings i won the A but was under pressure on the in field so hopefully with your tweaks it'll be flying

I think this thing is excellant , I only used it for about 2 hrs but what I see of the softwere it is easy to use and it looks quick although my times were not as quick as with my SPX I think they will come down tomorrow as I play some more with the settings

Phil, care to put your setup here?

I drive the new software in my 200mm pancar with 2s and 13.5t on the indoor track in Haarlem (MACH) and the acceleration and speed out of the corners brings a smile on my face everytime i slam the throttle. Also the software is so easy to setup now that it only took me 3-4 adjustments to do it. First i just used the basic setup for the touring car with the same rollout as before and just looked at the speed, acceleration and motor temp and tuned the boost and rpm settings accordingly. Turbo isn't needed for indoor. For pancar the start rpm can be one step lower then TC cars it seems.

Just set the motor timing on zero or even retard a little and the esc with the boost and rpm settings does the rest. It is a lot easier and forgiving then the old software.

Motor temp after 10+ minutes of hard driving is only 45 degrees celcius! and no signs of fading with my duo2 13.5t.
