Is there still the same issue with bringing a laptop to the track to change the updates? It is the disadvantage i find with the Speed Passion and the advantage of the lrp is this dosent have to be done. When i get to a new track i have enough to fiddle with without having to bring the laptop out to install updates. I am currently running a Novak GTB so any of these ESC's will be quicker for me but i want easy enough to use but i do want ajustability. It will be run in a Schumacher Mi4 with a Speed Passion V3 10.5 motor.

Thanks
Honestly with motors that fast you could put in a conservative software setup and just adjust your gearing for each track. Its not like if you have the settings off a little bit the car is garbage, most of us are running high wind motors where every little bit counts. I've driven a 8.5 car with the tekin and it was retarded fast, I don't think I even got the boost to kick in.

Just to be clear, the timing boost is how much timing in total + turbo?
And the ramp, is how much it increases the timing over rpm??

Or please explain it to me

Thanks
motor timming and timing boost are added through the rpm range that you set with the start/end rpm, turbo is added on top of both after a set delay and come's in as a ramp rate of 1/2/3 that you set

I'm confused, I keep hearing people say a narrow RPM band gives more torque/punch.

I equate timing steps to changing gears in a car. You will increase the time to shift from 1st to 5th to gain acceleration. So a narrow RPM range would decrease your torque/acceleration wouldn't it?

A narrow RPM range gives you a more aggressive feel but less torque.
Because of the lower torque, you should gear lighter.
With a wider RPM range you can gear heavier.
A wider RPM range makes the car less aggressive.
For larger tracks I would go for a wider RPM range.
For smaller tracks the narrow RPM range.
Set your Throttle on 3 and try some RPM ranges till you have something you like.
This way you change your throttle without changing the throttle settings.

Aftre the 2nd heat i fitted a cap and viola all glitches stopped.
I has a similar problem with my TC. Not too sure whether is was cogging, too much timing or even a problem with the sensor wire, but the car hesitated twice and made strange noise (as if the spur broke). I'm banking on the fact that I need a cap on my spektrum receiver. do you think it is due to the fact that the voltage dropped too far, below a certain cut-off within the receiver?

Thx

anybody racing with a fan on their motors? Is this a worthwhile investment?
I would assume that one run a more aggressive setup since one could save approx 30 deg on their motor with a fan..opinions?

If you find yourself still hunting for a few tenths. Even after your RS is all maxed out. You might try cutting a foot or two off those front body posts. Thats got to be good for at least a tenth per post!!!

Nice ride Chris.

A buddy of mine needs some help. We're at West Coast RC Raceway in SoCal on a track that i guesstimate is about 100'x60' and fairly technical. He says his car feels like the turbo kicks in too late (delay is at 0.3, ramp at 1) and that the car overall feels soft (it looks okay in the infield though). This is with a nemesis 17.5. Any tips or can someone share a setup to put on this tekin? Thanks.

Randy posted Barry Baker's Tekin setup a few pages back. Try that.

hes running FDR at 5.7 and running a 17.5. Im not sure if Barry's tekin setup would apply for a 17.5 or would it?
