so the "turbo" is another form of adding more timing to the motor?

v.203

MAX Boost Timing = 55 (after end RPM is reached)

Max Turbo Timing = 20 (after delay)

It's possible to have a total 75 degrees of timing just from the esc. Then you have the constant timing in the motor added on top of that.

Default rs or rspro

hi guys,
i am currently thinking of buying the tekin. i am driving 13.5T mainly. would you recommend the rs or the rspro? is there a performance difference besides the lesser turns allowed on the rs? thx for the answers
cheers

Can someone check this to help me get a half decent set up first time please? (i won't have a lap top available when i'm racing)

I run a Hot Bodies Cyclone with a 13.5 SpeedPassion V3. On posts here people are advising a heavier gear as the V3 is torquey so i've gone for 6.77 FDR (36/100 x 2.4375). Roll out appears to be 29.23 with 63mm diameter rubber tyres.

Other advice included having a higher start RPM say 5500 (rather than 2500) and my end rpm will be 20000 (going from 3100 (kV) x7.4 x0.9 = 20.6k ish).

I run on a tight grippy carpet track indoors and the straight is 30 metres ish.

Is this sensible/correct and would 40 timing boost/0.4 delay/2 ramp be ok as a start point? My main worry is it not performing enough at the next meeting and being unable to change it until next time.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply.

Whats the idea behind the 100 timing advance/ 52 timing boost and no turbo boost though? i also see the FDR is heavy too?

I'll try this set up and if it temps too high i can always gear down. I'm just a bit confused as to why the linked set up is so different to the Jeff Cuffs one on the site.

Thanks again

The gearing is heavy but the acceleration was the same as a 10,5T drivers.
Top speed was higher than that from the 10,5 drivers.
THe Turbo is of because this was to much.
The car was than to fast and harder to drive.
Plus the Car was fast enough on the straight.

Motor was around the 80C

The car with only Boost works great. I tried it today with a 10,5 and the car was fast enough. As you go off the throttle and back on, it accelerates right away and doesn't loose that much. With the Turbo you lose a bit more.
Plus you don't need the Turbo on indoor tracks. It's to much power.

100 timing advance is for as you get your sensor wire loose. you have still some power.

Right, which is why I was having so much trouble getting my Ballistic Series motors to run right without overheating. They just don't seem to like that much timing, even when the timing on the motor itself is set to 10 degrees or less(I even tried setting them to as close to 0 as possible). When you gear them down enough to keep them from overheating, the car loses too much top end to make up for with ESC timing or Turbo settings, & if you gear them like other motors(like the Duo 2's that a number of the guys were running last night at ACR), they just cook, no matter what you do. After my experience last night(& the one run I tried with it & the v203 software before we left for the Novak Race) & after reading about similar issues with some motors(noticed a lot of those kinds of problems with the Team Epic Nemesis motors, & I suspect the LRP X12 are the same), I think that you have to be careful what motor you run with the new software, some of the more basic designs work perfectly, while some of the newer ones(that I suspect were designed more with less advanced ESC's in mind) will just give you a major headache(or else you're better off using the older software with them)....
