Eric,

I run the hotwire on VMWare Fusion and it works just fine. The tech's at Apple suggest running programs in VMWare or Parallels instead of bootcamp because if there is an issue with the program you're running, fixing it is just a matter of removing VMWare or Parallels and not having to rebuild your master hard drive.

I just purchased a Tekin RS combo with 17.5 Redline for stock racing...I plan on uploading the Vegas 2.0 software before the maiden voyage tommorow...im looking for a good FDR...guys at my local track are using 6.7 FDR...I have 38/20T (1.9) in a T2 009...I can achieve 6.7 FDR with a 30 tooth pinion...but what I dont understand is where did the notion of trying to achieve the 6.7 FDR that they are using come from? can anyone help? thanks

It would depend on the track size and layout. Your best bet is to find somebody else running the RS and Redline 17.5 at your track who is having good results, and start from there. I think 6.7 is geared a tad short. Most people at my track run the redline closer to 5.5 or 5.0. That is on a very large track however, and there are too many variabls to give you a real starting point.

just what capt said,i have a 17.5 redline and i am in the 5-5.5 range, this is a good starting point unless the track you run on has a 50ft straight the 6.7 is way low.what size is the track

As it is like the Speedpassion motor, you must gear it heavier than the other motors.
Start with a FDR of 6,2 and lower it each time.

Try this setup.
Boost 45
Turbo 0
RPM 5500 - 18000
As the motor stays cool gear a bit heavier or higher the Boost. You must play a bit with it.
I think that the 5,6FDR will work but you must try.
Don't lower the start RPM. the motor has already a timing of 12 as it is like the Speedpassion.

ok, got the info...the track straight is approx 90-100ft, and the track surface it self is 100x50...so do you think the 6.7 is still too short for the 17.5 Redline? im going to by a 30 tooth pinion but whats another pinion to start with an compare? BTW im pushing a 106 spur gear...what motor temp is too hot and would indicate short gearing?

Hey Joon,

I won't tell Mr. Tag

Yeah I'm all signed up for the Johnny P race. I'm heading to Action this weekend for Round 3 of the SOS.

Make sure you tell that Pill-major guy to put his off-road stuff away and get his TC ready!

I'd also leave the turbo delay (which wasn't mentioned in youe setup) at a higher value until you're more comfortable with making timing adjustments; start at .8 seconds turbo delay, and work towards using smaller increments if necessary.
Thanks for your input, much appreciated.

Default Stormer Error Correction Formula

For you Tekin Guys who unfortunately have had v203 banned from your track, I found this link from a post Bob Stormer put out a couple of years back. Maybe you can print it out and post it at your local track. If it were only as easy as downloading some software, then becoming the best racer on the planet. Doesn't work that way. Handling/Power/Driver Error all produce the race result together and unfortunately for most of us - Driver has the larger part of the margin of error in the equation.
