I think many are trying to over think how to set the new version. Set it up using Randy's suggestions and then go the the track and make one change at a time and see what the changes do for you. Use the lap timer as your dyno. The fastest lap times without blowing up your motor is the settings you should use!

MongooseKY, come see me at the track, I'll get you set up. I'm not familiar with your current configuration so I don't want to give you something that might blow your stuff up.

Andrew ..... when I said the "Novak Booster didn't work" I ment it did not work properly. I could pull the throttle 3-4 times before I would loose throttle. The esc would light all the led's solid and the transponder light would go out. No throttle for a few seconds and then throttle again and the cycle would start over.

duo2 13.5 = 14,000 rpm @ 5.0v
duo2 13.5 = 22,400 rpm @ 8.0v
2800kv
(edit: but I also found this that shows 17,300 rpms for a 13.5 duo - http://www.rctech.net/forum/attachme...mg_4288-1-.jpg )

duo2 17.5 = 11,000 rpm @ 5.0v
duo2 17.5 = 17,600 rpm @ 8.0v
2200kv

Somebody please correct me if im wrong... but I really want to know what the overall maximum RPM of these motors are so that I can get an accurate picture in my head of where to set my boost RPM settings too.
Im thinking that the rpm settings should be a factor of Kv but those numbers are unloaded. I think I need to make a load flywheel chassis dyno to test gearing vs timing. This new version just gave us more variables to play with.

That was already my plan I figured I'd see what the crowd here had to say so we could theorize from there.

Run, Mongooseky, Run like the wind. This place is turning into a Death Spiral. Just follow Randy, he knows the way!!

Did you mean Boost or did you mean Turbo? How does the ramp rate work with Boost? Does the delay start after the end RPM? Round and Round, Round and Round.

The way this software is quickly changing, it would be nice to have specific details for stock, SS and mod racing and how the profiles can be used to adjust for those specific motors. Not on this thread but on the Tekin site. To go through a ton of pages to weed between accurate and inaccurate information, is not healthy for THIS top of the line ESC.

It is kind of like Dr Frankenstein's monster, you just don't know or understand the direction it will rampage in. Benchmark ranges would be nice.

Sure make one change at a time on the track, assuming we have a local track or ozite rolled out in the basement, I don't. I can explain and justify a day of racing, explaining a day of practice at a track 90 min away.... now that is a difficult story.

Well it appears for 17.5 v203 won't be allowed at the novak race.. Does anyone have a good place to start for 17.5 duo on v200 on what I would assume is close to a 100ft straightaway.

So does that mean the black diamond and mamba max pro won't be allowed either ? Just curious since they both do something similar to what 203 does.

I don't think the X-12 is the best choice for v203, apparently they don't like too much timing advance in the speedo. LRP has told users of the SPX that they shouldn't run the X-12 over profile 6.

I'm guessing the Redline motors or Duo's would still be the better choice to fully exploit the potential of v203

Pretty easy to tell when they are 5 car lengths behind you and then 5 car lengths ahead of you by the end of the straight.

I am running the Novak Ballistics with pretty good results in 17.5 with 203.
