New software not posted yet? Went to Tekin's site, registered to download Vegas2, saved the file TekinHotWireVegas_3_32_200.zip and installed it, but I see no new features, just the same Vegas 200 I already had. Whats the new zip filename when its saved?

For what it's worth.

A very nice feeling and fast setup for 17.5 tc on a 100x36 track was:

Drag Brake: 22(lots of 180's)
Throttle profile: 4
Timing boost: 50
Turbo boost: 5
Turbo delay: .2
End RPM: 18k
Start RPM: 8k( or close to that after calc)
Turbo ramp: 2.0

FDR: 5.5

Jaco Blues on my T3

Car was rediculous and the temps were low. I run a speedpassion V3 motor, it is a 0-10degree motor, so put it in the middle. This is not going to be my final setup, but had a decent amount of time to test and tune over the past couple of days to try things out. Now if i can only keep the car from spinning the tires in the sweeper

I recieved tons of calls from folks and am gonna have them come here to just look it up, lol.

Enjoy!

Thats 200 vegas. not 203. The download comes from the link in the email.

I had the same hassle.
Refresh the home page or hotwire page a few times and it will change and list it as Hotwire V4 then open it register and you will recieve a email with a download link.

Change the "end RPM" to the desired number, click calc rpm's right underneath, click okay then select the desired start rpm from the list.

These comments are for 13.5 Touring car.

The Mamba max does timing in a similar way. From my experience with that ESC you don't want to start ramping timing at too low of an RPM or you'll just bog the motor down.

Being Tekin has kept the Turbo feature I would run boost in the 30deg range with rpm from 6-12k (depends on track size delta start to end ~3k) and then use turbo for straight away speed with additional 5-15 deg. This is assuming the numbers you set using the sliders are in degrees.

Remember no timing in the motor leave it at factory zero which should be the most efficient setting.

When you start getting over 40deg of timing from the ESC it will most likely generate too much heat so be careful.

Run your FDR in the 5.5-6.5 range for 13.5 depending on the motor you’re using.

This software should definitely level the playing against Castle and Advanced Electronics.

Thanks Tekin.

PS I know it's a bit early to start asking for more but it might be nice for the less tech savvy users to provide some preset settings people can load know that there more options to play.

I personally like what I see so far.

Timing boost goes that high, turbo boost is not really that necessary anymore. Wonder which boost you were referring to.

I just add some because it's there, really not needed. It pulls the full length of the straight and just squirts out of the corner like a demon.

In setting up an MMP for a friend I found in 4wd off road 17.5 that 6200rpm start and 13200rpm end point (wanted higher but there weren't many options) with 40 degrees of timing gave the best results. Motor will rev out to about 18-19000rpm depending on gearing and straight length.

With the new adjustability for boost turbo might not be needed but if it is used I would be starting with 0.5 as a minimum. Guess I will have to rebuild my B44 now so I can get some testing time.
I'd love to hear how you determined that a 17.5 spools to 7k in .1 seconds.

On the bench I have 17.5 motors spooled out to ridicules RPM's, but on the track I find different values due to the load. Just for fun . . .

Lets say your 17.5 12th scale hits 24 mph at the end of your straight with a 3.35" rollout.

24MPH / 60 = .4 Miles Per Minute
.4 MPM x 5,280 = 2,112 Feet Per Minute
2,112 FPM X 12 = 25,344 inches per minute
25,344 IPM / 3.35 IPR = 7,565 RPM

For those mathletes who wanted, by knowing your speed at the fastest section of the track, you can work backwards to the end RPM to input.

From what I have seen so far is the old addage of "too much timing" is being tossed out the window. We are now adding timing based on contrlled RPM ranges. Which makes it a ton more efficient and things just run cooler.

I chose a end RPM that was physically higher than what my motor is theoretically turning on the track. What this did for me was provide a stready stream of acceleration that required little or no boost to get the job done at lower temps.

Having the turbo boost timing come in based on full throttle was tricky with 199-200v setups. It wasnt the best way to do things, but it got the job done well for it's time. The other rpm controlled speedos had the right idea and I am thrilled that I did not have to buy new hardware to keep up.

Kudo's go out to tekin for providing free upgrades that move the hardware to a whole different level.

Got it finally. Had to register again and get a 2nd email. I did it earlier, but musta been too soon. Now, to decide on whether to run the Tekin w/ new firmware, or the new 1S edition MMP. Decisions decisions.

Both are great speed controls......

... But The RS is smaller. Thats a win/win in my book
