I don't know you guys but I feel very lucky to be a Tekin user because Randy here with us everyday listens what we want and they work on it ...
that's really priceless ...
I do hope one day Tekin guys will bring us ORCA type of small programmer to set all those timing-turbo-delay etc.
I'm sure 99% of the tekin users will buy that device

My common 17.5 starting set up is(Rubber touring smaller asphalt tracks/Indoor Carpet):

10 Motor
10 Turbo(Vary 7-10 all smaller tracks)
30 Timming Boost(Vary 25-30)
gearing 4.5 start
Delay Min.

I Usally adjust timming Boost for infeild as needed and adjust Turbo till car peaks at braking point on main shoot.

Yes, I run either Center 5th Slash or 6th slash. With Duo-1 I was running Low hole.

Larger tracks I have run 28 timing Boost and 18 Turbo, Middle hole DUO-1 and 4.76..That was a fairly large US style asphalt track.

Is there anyone out there that actually runs the Tekin with modified motors or is it all spec racing? If there is anyone running 4.5, 5.5 or 6.5 can you please throw up your settings just as a comparison?

Thanks

Are you still running 100% drag brake?

By "max speed" are you referring to speed down the straight, or lower lap times?
Neither. Max speed was in a huge car park where turbo delay was not a factor. I can full throttle for more than 10 sec. You can also try doing it with less timing like 5 degrees then listen to the revs with the car off the ground.

Yes, I've posted a few mod setups before. Here's Jason Mo Moberly's 4.5 TC setup. This one is THE starting point for most Mod TC. Also Mike Dumas's mod 1/12 setup from IIC.

Moberly's mod setup is great starting setup. Used it to give me a starting point for mod and ended up not changing much or possibly anything.

Planning on trying the Vegas Special this weekend in WGT and my dad will be giving it a try in 13.tc as I'll be running mod tc. Will try to post setups Sunday or Monday.

I experienced a bit of a odd problem yesterday, I ran in 10.5 for the first time. During practice and first couple of qualifiers I had good brakes but then after that I started loosing brakes, I run with no drag brake. But I ended up changing brakes on my transmitter from 70% to 100% just in some hope of getting brakes back.
Yesterday was also the hottest day I've ran a RS (with v200) in, the motor (Losi 10.5 w/ fan) got up 65c. Up until yesterday I've been experiencing lock up in the brakes. If it wasn't for the brake loss the speedy ran completely fine.

Do the Tekin RS's just not like heat?

personally changing from an LRP to a Tekin my brakes are the same... nothing! lol

but from our "local guru" says.. the faster you come into a corner and utilize corner speed.. you will see the best results.. so now i use 60 drag brake and use it to the best of my ability (anything more or less was not my driving style with trial an error)

back in the subject is there a problem with my brake or keep on doing what works for me>?

Here's my setup from the 12th scale national last weekend at Crewe, UK. Maybe not quite optimal, but up with or better than anyone else in my heats and mains, and probably better than my ability can handle!

(Tekin RS, Nosram/LRP 10.5)
