I was able to T.Q 5 out of 6 Qualifiers, on the way to setting the fastest lap time, fastest race time as well as wrapping up the win in the first two finals.

Car had plenty of pace and motors ran extremely cool all weekend with temps averaging no higher than 120-130f, and this was at a crazy FDR of 3.6 whilst still using boost and turbo function.

Here is some footage of the event and track,

Congrrats, awesome video, great ACDC sounds! nice track perfect!

Can someone give me some pointers for gearing and settings for the track below (that is a 1/12 running on it, but it's still a BIG track!)
I am running:
Touring Super Stock Tamiya TA-05
Tekin RS esc
Tekin 13.5 redline, 8 deg timing
18 degrees Timing Boost
Max Turbo boost
0.5 sec delay

Had a few issues with set-up, and want to get the turbo right.

Thats one track where the RS will REALLY shine!..

Try timing boost 20-25, fdr 5-6. Watch the temps!!

Can anyone confirm these settings should be ok? Just dont have time to test unfortunately.

Tekin RS PRO with Redline 6.5 in XRAY T2009, running FDR of 7.52 in dual mode with 80 timing advance?

Thanks
Adrian

First of all, get out of dual mode, and into sensored mode. Then timing boost at 10, turbo 10. Start with an FDR of 9.0 and progressively gear up/timing boost up/turbo up depending on the track layout, while watching the temps.

Most RS users are running stock classes and haven't much experience running modifieds. But that's what I'd do if I were to run a 6.5T.

Not sure if that is correct. Before Tekin Prez said that turbo was useless and dangerous in Mod motors. Not recommended

I wouldn't start out in sensored only mode either in a 6.5. I'd start out in dual mode, 80 on the timing advance.

You can get into sensored only mode but there are things that must be adjusted prior to doing so.

If you go into sensored only mode make sure to turn your motor timing down to 0, then start bringing up timing boost slowly while watching motor temps closely.

It's easy to overtime a mod motor quickly.

we ran 6.5 on-road with the Tekin

dual mode
80 timing

installed a bigger power cap though to be safe. I've tried it in a 2wd buggy too, and that didn't seem to need the cap, but I've not raced that yet, just run it around for a few runs.

Default RS pro shuts down, overheated?

Hi,

Have some question regarding my RS pro + redline 3.5T setup on my xray EU rubber spec.

After about 5 - 6 mins run time on my local asphalt track, the whole system will shut down with nil response; seems like its overheated.. (local temp that day was about 33-35deg C)

Am using a 17T pinon.

Can any body help pls? Anything wrong with my setup?

Many thanks!

Did you use a bigger cap?
set a fan on your solder post. This will keep the speedo cooler.
lower your timing in the speedo.
what is your setup?
