Looks like I might be installing a different OS on my laptop for those away races. Oh well, not much we can do about it I guess.

Nothing else was changed on my setup from before (just to remind you, 12 timing on motor, 10 boost, no turbo, no drag brakes, profile 3, sensored mode, no reverse, everything else zero or not used).

Thank you for your help.
Please, Tekin Team, any ideas?

Hi Guys, I got the Tekin RS w/ 13.5 brushless motor installed in my CRC Gen-X and I noticed that the motor does have some cogging to it (not sure if this is normal since it's a sensored motor). Also, not knowing that the car was stuck on the edge of a carpet, I gave it some throttle and noticed that the motor made a weird sort of slipping noise as if it was slipping internally instead of putting the power to the wheels. I've only done this once or twice not knowing that it was stuck.

Is this cogging and slipping normal? I read that the old version of the Tekin RX8 has issues with the rotor separating and slipping but not sure if that's the case with the RS as well. Did a search for the usual terms "slip, slipping, etc..." and didn't get any pertinent results.

Hope my motor isn't defective. Been used for maybe 10 minutes at home for testing purposes.

Are your brakes set at 100%? EPA brakes maxed out as well? If still weak brakes, try doing a factory reset on the esc and recalibrate and reconfigure everything again. A few here have added some drag brakes to help with braking a little. The thing is, a 21.5T motor runs on very low fdr's which have a negative effect on braking power.

That gearing isn't helping your cause. Brakes are created from the motor reversing the power for the most part. That isn't very many rpm's for braking. That is why they feel weaker than before(last setup).

Your motor should not be cogging. That noise you hears is mis commutation.

Make sure your sensor wire is plugged in properly.

Thank you very much Randy/Tekin Team.

I suspected as much. This being the case, should I expect turning up the drag brakes to help the cause? I mean would drag brake help the emergency brake, or the effect is not compounding?

I appreciate you taking the time for me (and everybody else).

I have experienced this even with my SP esc and 17.5.
The taller/longer gearing used the weaker the brakes feel.

Wheres the best place to get the latest RS Pro Software?

Also will it not work on any Windows Vista, or is it just not working on the 64bit version.

Hi Randy,

It coggs slightly ever since the motor started "slipping".

All wires are connected correctly, including the sensor wire.

I noticed that it does the "slipping" thing when I hit the brakes hard as well.

Is there a way for me to check the motor internals to make sure it's not broken?
