Unless you drive around the track with your throttle pegged the whole time, it almost does not matter what you set your turbo to.

If you set your turbo to max(20), it takes at least 1.5 sec of full throttle to get that full 20* of timing. That is .5sec of delay(if you set your delay to minimum) and 1 sec to hit full timing with no load, maybe more on the track. So lets say it takes .1 sec to get 2* degrees of timing. If your only full throttle for 1sec, you're only going to get 10* of boost. Make sense?

Ran the regional champs on Sunday and ran exceptionally well with the RS Pro, SP 13.5 in my TOP Racing Scythe.
Started the day on a 45mm roll out for the first heat.
Car was a bit loose but ran well. Thought it was a bit lazy on the top end so dropped a tooth on the pinion.
2nd heat it was much better and took the lead but made a mistake missing out on TQ by 1.7 seconds
Dropped another tooth on the pinion and reduced drag brake a bit.
I didnt have my hotwire and laptop so i manually reduced it as well as changed the throttle profile from 5 to 4 but some how i changed the lipo cutoff and 4 mins into the 3rd qualifier my car cut off a few times costing me the lead and TQ.
Thinking it was a glitch on my reciever i swapped out the reciever and ran the final only to have it happen again with 2 laps remaining.
I managed to drive it slowly to make it to the end to take 2nd with 3rd place half a second behind me.

All in all had a great days racing
will post setup details when i have a chance.
Have to say V200 feels different to 199 and a lot smoother.
Next racen i will be running a Tekin 13.5 motor and compare to the Speedpassion.

Neutral - 5
Motor - BL-FW
Throttle - 5
Volt Cut - 2
Push - Off
Timing - 0 (and default timing on my LRP motor)
Current - Off
Sensored - Yes
Boost - 20
Turbo - Max delay - 0.5

I had been running with an SPX before the Tekin and liked it's punch (in mode 8) in field but the Tekin easily matched it with the settings above. I went with an FDR of 5.3 to start with as that was what I had been running with the SPX and left the timing at 12 degrees which is the default for an LRP motor. Car felt really good infield and on the straight while I couldn't feel the turbo kicking in the car was definitely flying by the end of the straight!

The motor temps where cool at about 48 - 50 degrees so I then changed my timing on the motor up about 2mm (don't know what this is in degrees) and went up one tooth (running 64dp) and the car was even better.

I wouldn't say that my car (an Mi4) was any faster (I was about a second quicker) than I was with the SPX before but it was certainly easier to drive - hard to describe but it just drove better - easier to get lines but the power, speed and punch were all there.

Great job guys!
Thanks for the info.
I have never hath a SPX but from all the drivers I raced against that drove a SPX or a GM, were impressed by the power I hath.
They told me that I hath a lot of power and that my car was the fastest on in the infield.
The Turbo kicks in very smooth. This is great because now it accelerates from 0 in one line to it's top speed.

The throttle is much better than the GM say 2 drivers that hath a GM speedo.
It drives better and it field like the Tekin hath more power but the power came much smoother from the start.
2 GM drivers are now changing to Tekin.

It is much smoother than the V199. The Turbo is not also on a small track very nice.
It has now one smooth accelreration to the top speed.

Tekin RS Pro

will it fit easily under the open cockpit cars or would the RS version be a better bet?

Novak 17.5/13.5, so no adjustable timing that I'm aware of.

With those motors, 10-15 timing and 5 boost should be good on a tight track. If there is no motor temp, more gear or more timing.

The timing is adjustable on Novak motors. They just didn't mark the cans. Loosen the three screws and turn the black or orange notched ring. AFAIK, the ring goes -12* to +12* over its full travel. Centering it in it's travel is 0*. One of the notches should be dead center under the lower screw on the back plate, opposite the soldering tabs.

Perfect, that's what it's set at.
