I raced today with the National championship that was on my club.
I qualified 7th but because of an mistake in the head of the finals I hath to start from place 8.
We have 3 qualifications and 2 finals.
2 qualifications count for the place in the final.
The first qualification I became 7th. The second 8th and the 3th I became 4th.
So I was very happy with that resold. I was happy with a B final but this was even better than I expected.
In the finals it became harder to drive.
The air temp became so high, that it made the track slower.
I hath some problems with the handling of the car but I became 8th in the first final.
Second finale I became 5th after being on the 4th place for a moment. Just one small collision made me lose some places but I drove back.
I became 8th in total.
My first A final in the nationals, so I'm happy with the resold.

Next week club race.
Week after that Dutch RC Series.
I hope that this race will also go as todays race.

My setup of todays race was.
Speedpassion 10,5T
5 cell
Boost 18
Turbo Max
Throttle 5
Brake 100
5,4FDR
Motor temp 160F

I drove a one way so I didn't use the brake.
4 Tekin drivers today. I was the only in the A final. A club member hath some bad luck with his car. He hath to barrow a car from some one.
He has a FK05 and he drove today a TOP ARP. He didn't even test it before the qualification.
He became 2th in the B.

Infield was great. one of the fastest if not the fastest.
Straight I lost just a small bit but I like it more like this because than i can take the corner at the end of the straight full power and I'm than faster in that corner. I make up the loss i hath on the straight right away.
Even win a bit. But the difference was very small on the straight.
Whit the Tekin motor I go a lot faster on the straight.
But i was faster with this setup than a high top speed with the Speedpassion motor.

How many people run a heatsink and fan on their motors?

Change the file extension from .txt to .zip and it will work fine.

Randy changes the extension because so many email apps filter out zip and exe files.

I run one all the time. Keeps my motor temps down. The heat sink at fan is worth about 20 degrees. I am however looking to going with just a fan set up and ditching the heat sink to try and save on weight since Roar lowered the weight again. The LRP heat sink/fan combo is rather heavy.

No problem
A heat sink is more effective than a fan, by themselves. I doubt a fan by itself will do much. Unfortunately the heavier the sink the more heat that can be sunk into it and the ore effective it is.

Default Power cap installation

I am in the process of installing a RS into my Cyclone S running a Novak 17.5s and have some questions regarding the cap.

1. Is it better to run the 330uf cap that comes with the unit or a G11 cap which is rated for 1000uf, both are rated at 16v?

2. Is there a benefit to running dual caps in a 17.5 application, or is a single cap enough?

3. What should I expect for performance for this system? I expect to have access to the hotwire system while I race and can make adjustments to the speed controller if needed. I am not looking to be uber competitive (novice racer), however I don't want to ruin my equipment with faulty operation/expectation.

4. Motor Timing. For those that are running the Novak motor what timing are you running on the can? If it is not stock out of the box any pics of how you have adjusted the timing.

I'll test this out the next time I run. Thanks for the info.

Thanks,

Josh
Step 1)Click "Start" and select "Control Panel." Next, double-click "Folder Options." From there, choose the "View" tab.

Step 2) Un-check "Hide Extensions for Known File Types" and click "OK."

Step 3) Navigate to the file whose extension you would like to change. Right-click the filename and select "Rename."

Step 4) Type a new filename. The extension is the portion of the filename that follows the period. In the accompanying image, the extension was changed from "txt" to "zip" Press "Enter"; you will be asked if you are sure you want to change the filename. Select "Yes."

Googled it...
