i run 198 against sponsored folks and folks that simply spare no expense, and even with a 3 year old lipo i'm not exactly getting blown off the track speedwise.. some of you guys need to look into your setups, gearing, programming or something...

I normally run mod indoors with TC on carpet. On Saturday night I gave 10.5 a go for the first time because I wanted to try the 200 software.

All I can say is WOW. That 10.5 (Tekin Redline) was just as fast as the mods at the end of the straight and I was blowing away the LRP's. Infact my overall race times were a full lap up on the mods and my individual lap times was .2-.3 a lap up on the mods. And to top it all of the hottest the motor got was 50C.

I am very happy

ok guys i got to see 200 in a 4wd 10.5 class last night and if it can be as good in onroad as it is in offroad.... lookout. i ran the same car and setup. the only difference was the software and OMG what a difference.i definatly cant wait to run this in the onroad. the power was much smoother and the motor was much cooler. and you can definatly hear the turbo kick in going down the straight. the revs change big time in the motor and you can see the car kick in to overdrive. thanks be to randy and crew for getting it right.

I can't imagine it taking too much longer unless the team drivers uncover something they wasn't expect in tests.

Jared get the software and share it with your fellow Losi driver.

Default Max temp && ESC placements effect on temperature

What is the maximum temp as shown on the LEDs an RS should be run to? I've been seeing 4 or 5 bars on the temp meter in 13.5t/2s rubber tire touring car.

I'm trying to determine what is the optimal location and positioning for ESC cooling. On my XRay T2 08/09 I had been running the RS right next to the motor, laying flat with the gold posts facing towards the inside of the car. I've been running 13.5t motors mostly -- and haven't had any known overheating problems yet. I'm just trying to get this placed as ideal as possible.

This weekend I swapped the location of my ESC and receiver (futaba) but didn't notice any temp change really. Would spinning the RS 180 degrees so the posts are towards the outside of the chassis help?

thanks.

Yeah, turning the posts facing out should reduce the temp a little.

Ive found 4-5 bars of temp is pretty normal for usage.

I face the posts towards the servo and put a small ESC type fan onto the chassis between the servo and ESC blowing over the posts.

If you have a search using the search function on this thread Randy and others have mentioned this tip and have also put photos of it.

im surprised alot of you guys like the v2.00 firmware. The "turbo" felt wierd to me, i just didn't prefer it over v1.98 with the timing boost maxed out. Maybe i should give it another try?

Does anyone see anything wrong with placing some heatshrink over the soldered part of the wire which attaches to the posts?
I'm not talking about all the way down, i know they are used as a heatsink. Just over the solder and the bare copper wire part.

Cheers

Hey Bear
How were your brakes with v200 and the 10.5? 10.5 is really the only motor I could not get brakes on so if thats all sorted I to will be a very happy camper. Can you please PM me your ESC and motor settings dude? Much appreciated.
Cheers
Adrian

Do not put any heat shrink on the posts, they act as heat sinks for the RS, a couple of pages back someone did have heat issues when they put heat shrink over the posts.
