Ps.: sorry for my bad english
The upgrades to the software and firmware don't apply when this speedo is used with brushed motors. To see the true potential of this ESC, try a brushless motor (you'll never use a brushed motor again!!!)

Sometimes you may have to shove the usb connection in on the hotwire a little harder. You can use it with brushed motors, as stated in the manual. Don't waste money buying another esc for brushed motors. Thats the whole idea of it being designed for both.

You can use this ESC with a brushed motor with great results, and you'll have the ability to "tune" the ESC using the MODE and INCR buttons on the case. The only thing you'll miss are the boost (variable timing) and dual-mode features.

Yes, the yellowish/greenish error box is a bug with 198.

How does the RS Pro hold up to modified abuse? Is there trouble with overheating in warmer weather around the 40C mark (+100F)?

Yes the Tekin 21.5s are every bit as fast as the Novak's, perhaps even faster. I run on a small track and the lap times was identical within just a few hundredths. We also tested the Trinity Duo and found it also to be equal on our track as well.

The reason I picked the Tekin was it drives much smoother than the Novak and Duo. The throttle is very linear compared to the other motors which makes the car much easier to drive.

Damn that's hot.
Do you come outside with that wetter?
I stay inside with an airconditioner

A cool fan on the solder post and a bigger cap.
That must do it.

The RS holds up just fine to low turn mod racing, I ran my RS Pro in touring modified on foam with a 4.5 DUO and outdoors with a 34C ambient high and track temp 57C and the highest the temp went was 5 LED's. I ran an upgraded cap and a high RPM 25mm x 25mm fan mounted about 15mm from the posts blowing directly at the posts.

The cap does some of the work that the ESC would have to do without it, by first storing energy, then releasing it when needed. It keeps the load lower on the ESC istself. If you want, go wiki how a capacitor works.

Due to the tight fit on the F104 I finally had to remove the posts on my RS and solder the wires into the holes in the board. I made sure there is no solder spillover from tab to tab, does anyone see me having a problem with this?
