I have a hotwire on order and i was going to change to 189 with full timing boost and with a 5.0 FDR, does that sound about right?

What is an acceptable ESC temperature when using a 13.5 indoors on a high bite 10x15m sedan track (40 shore foams, additive for first round only, then the grip comes up), with no fan.

with 3 minute qualifiers and a single 5 minute main, I am not getting more than 2 Lights lit.

I'm pretty sure this sounds good, just seeing how others are fairing

Afternoon Gentlemen

I am off to this track at the weekend for abit national with my Tekin RS and a brand new 10.5 redline in tow.... Im just thinking about where to start with gearing etc.

Track is http://www.wlrc.co.uk/

I was thinking 25 Boost, 5 on the motor geared at around 5.5..

Normally with a LRP TC its at 5.0....

Does that sound about right?

Cheers

I am doing the national on the weekend..

Apparently gearing for west london is around 4.5 - 5 for 10.5.

Nick,

Thanks for the reposnse..... I was finding the lower I geared it the faster I was going.... Was down there Sunday for the warmup meeting.

Running 5.0 with the tekin on full boost with a x11 10.5 was producing so much heat... By the end of the day I was down to 5.5 coming off at just over 150*...

You running the Tekin?

Was wondering how I should handle the Redline (brand new coming for this weekend)timing in conjuction with the Tekin boost...

Default Question about the current limiter

Just a question about the current limiter on the RS Pro. Does anyone know roughly how many amps each LED represents? There is a choice from 1 to 13 but what's 13 and what's 1?

Yeah that is my experience as well. I had boost on 9 with a 4.5t novak and fan for the esc. I had 3-4 lights as well after 5-6 minutes. I still have to test it further. Any higher boost and the motor will stutter. Temp of the motor was ok, didn't measure it but i could still touch it for more then 4 seconds.

I tested today the 189 software and the 194.
The 189 is in a tc faster.
tested ad full boost with a LRP X11 10,5T. end ratio 5.8
and 23 boost with 5,6 end ratio
The temps were ok. The 5,6 with 23 boost was the best setup at the moment.
The 189 hath more top speed than the 194 version.
So next race i will use the 189. Also the LRP X11 is faster than the speedpassion 10,5
same speed and the temp of the speedpassion was higher. a lot higher. almost 180 wile the lrp was 150+.

Because i have no good tires any more i couldn't test the Tekin redline motor with the 189.

The temps are still ok so why is the 194 slower than the 189?
Can the new software get the power back of the 189?

I did back to back testing with 189 and 194 with a Tekin 13.5 using a radar gun at the end of the straight. Both came up with the same top end.

tested it with a club member.
He was using the 194 and i the 189.
I was a bit faster on the straight end.
When i changed his software to the 189 he hath the same top speed.
Acceleration was the same.

I will try it this weekend again. The motor temp was quit low compared to the Speedpassion so i think i can gear heavier 1 tooth. Top speed was better than the Speedpassion motor.

The Timing on our track is best between 45 and 50 total timing.
When i used 55 total timing i didn't get any more power. same speed as with 50. I used an other gearing with the 55 for the temps.

I'm also going t try to get some extra tires so i can train on new tires again.

The resuld of the 189 vs the 194 can be the cells that we use.
To check if everything is ok i will use the timing this weekend.
Also i will check the speed with the same battery pack.
