Steve

Someone had a similar incident near the beginning of this thread and I think you can get them direct from tekin for like $3 plus shipping. Give tekin a call and they should be able to sort it out.

Default need starting set up

Can someone point me in the right direction. I need a staring set up for a Tekin RS using hotwire for Vintage Trans Am using a 21.5 (novak) burshless on a small carpet track.

What version software do you have? If you have 194 you want to turn the boost to max and 0 motor timing sensored only.

Thanks, when do you going to try to reach the same topspeed with the RS?
What settings should be used?

Same gear ratio or gear it down a few teeth from the GTB setup?

OOOPS I meant version 189, but I think it will work the same with 194. I would drop back a few teeth from your GTB setup and check temps and go from there.

For the tracks that you guys are getting these "top speed" runs in on you're going to run quite a bit of boost AND some motor timing. Don't forget that getting out of the hole getting ON that long straight is often a huge factor to top end.

Try running 25 on boost and 10 on motor and go up slowly from there.

Default Thanks

Thanks guys for the set up suggestions. I ended up taking all of the timing out of the motor and ran 20 on timing boost on version 194. WOW, this is the break-through I have been looking for. My buddy ran his RS on a 17.5 at 15 on timing boost and loved it.

I will continue to tune the RS but at the moment I am working on a new chassis set up and until that is sorted out "real data" will be hard to get.
