Hi!

I am waiting for my RS-Pro/10.5 setup to show up on my door step. I am going to be running it in a XXX buggy.

Anyone have an set up tips or gearing recommendations?

Thanks!

Edit: Sorry...I didn't realize this was in the on-road thread

I have my setup for a speedpassion 10,5T
I raced yesterday. By some bad luck by the kwalification i ended up as 11th so first in the B.
Speed was super. By far the fasted in the B
i was half a lap down and last by my own mistake and i drove all the way back to the frond.
4th fastest in lap times.
incredible. never was i faster than some drivers and now i was.

Setup was
Boost 28
nutral 10
bracke 100%
drag brake 0
acceleration 5

motor temp was 160 to 165
so was good.
Power till the last lap.

now i can test further with the right settings for the tekin motor.
Coudn't test it wel so i chose to g on save and choose for the settings with the motor that i now that was good.

I've actually run full boost and added timing on the motor but it's not recommended. I think the sensors are reading a little differently on 1 cell.

In any case you'll never get that pop that you had on 4 cell even in mod. The trick to single cell is keeping the corner speed up so you don't need all that punch.

Take note of the direction you turn it to get to the desired set of holes and that will help you relate to others when they say clockwise or counter clockwise. I hope I explained this well enough to be of some help to you.

Good luck.

I do seem to have some extra time on my hands now that 360 Speedway has closed its doors. A new carpet track "Speedzone Raceway and Hobbies" is moving into the area and opening sometime in the next month from what I'm told, so I'll likely have less time for taking photos and adding arrows and counting words...

Why didn't you use the tekin 10.5t mikkey?

I used the gm 10.5t last saterday evening. After a little playing around i had boost on 30 and motor tempature were ok. i changed to one size bigger pinion so changed my rollout to 56.5mm or something. Speed was good faster then some other 10.5t on the straight but i wasn't the fastest. Temperatures were after a 7 minute race fairly warm. i could hold my finger on it for more then 5 seconds but i could feel the motor was getting hot. i didn't change it during the second kwalification. Maybe a little less boost with a little higher rollout? I still feel a little that the motor has a good start but then after a while the acceleration is gone. I had the same with my 4.5t. Maybe my boost is to high and it needs to work harder to get that car accelarating with that high rollout ? What do you think mikkey?

hey Randy,
Thanks for sendin the 194 software to me last week, It performed awesome. Wondering if you have a good baseline setup for 13.5 truck as this is the class we run during the summer and i'm preparing to switch my gear over to the truck(xxxt-cr with 13.5 duo). Thanks again, Tim Larson

Default speedo cycle

Got a quick question.

Used my RS pro for the first time this past weekend. Not sure if this is normal but when I turn on the speedo it takes about 1 minute to 1 1/2 minutes to cycle (or at least that what seems to be doing) before it sends any power to the wheels.
After that it works fine. still using the original software.

I will test this weekend the motor again. didn't test with good tires. I tested with old sweeps and they have no traction and grip.
I new that the settings from the speedpassion motor were good because an other Tekin driver tested it.
i gave him some setups and watched his lap times.
And to go on save, i choose for the speedpassion motor.
Now i have better tires with lap times. so next time when i go to the club, i'm going to test it.
Motor stayed cool by me.
only notist that when i go back 1 pinion and ad 5 boost that the motor stays cooler.
The Tekin must be geard very light.
I'm going to test with motor on 12 and boost on 23 and the same gear i drove with the race.
Than i'm adding some boost if the temp stays low.
if the temp is the same or higher than the speedpassion. than i go 1 pinion smaller. and test it again. and if the temp is than good, than i will ad some boost.

A small hesitation (about 1-3 seconds) is normal. The RS needs to 'bind' to the receiver , add to that the time for some radio's to bind to the receiver (regardless of the ESC being used) and it can seem like a wait at times.

alright, i will decreas the rollout and will put boost on 23 next time. Could indeed be that the motor just has to work too hard with that rollout and boost 30.

What is your neutral width setting and have you adjusted your throttle trim since you set up the radio to the speedo? If your neutral width is too low or if you move your throttle trim, it can have a hard time finding neutral when you turn the speedo on. I suggest starting with a NW of 8-10 and reset the speedo to the radio and see if that helps.

Please be patient as I know this is giong to be a lot of emailing.
