This is the one I want to use

So it wont work if its still plugged into receiver?

Maybe I can use the above, but with a switch that will disable the tekin rs harness when I need to use the hotwire with the adapter. Its such a pita as the tekin receiver plug is in the middle of channel 1(servo) and channel 3(transponder)

No, but you could do what I did. I cut down a single extension:

Just tried a y-harness with my KO 2.4 receiver and it doesn't work. The USB port will power up the receiver and the RS won't link up. Might work if you wire in a switch that disconnects the y-harness from the receiver.

It's easier to pull the plugs out if you put a pull tab on (just a piece of strapping tape).

Default 1/12 pan car 1S lipo Tekin RS settings

Wondering about the best setup for my Tekin RS for the following parameters:

1/12 scale 12R5
1S lipo
13.5 Trinity DUO motor
TQ Booster
Tekin RS
Hotwire with 1.94 firmware
Track is 60x28
Pinion 42
Spur 72
Rollout 3.4271

I tried this:
Timing on motor at 15 degrees (middle)
Drag brake 0
Brake strength 100%
Limiter OFF
Neutral width 10
Voltage cutoff OFF (and switch is off)
Motor type BL-FW
Throttle profile 3
Timing advance 100 (deactivated - sensor mode)
sensored X
push control off
reverse strenght off
Timing boost 15

Would it be beneficial to use the DUAL mode setting ? What about timing advance.

OK I can use a bit more power. Should I gear up the pinion of try some changes on the speed control ?

Thanks

Canuck,

I'd run the endbell in the least advanced position on the Duo 13.5, and run the boost at maximum. Try gearing for 3.2 or 3.25 rollout. I was running an 80*36 or so track, geared for 3.3 rollout with the endbell backed off and max boost in my 3.7 1/12 car.

I haven't run dual mode in a long time... I think I had firmware 1.80 in the RS the last time I ran dual. If you do try it, I'd be interested to hear the results...

So you are saying to let the ESC do the max for timing and the DUO full clockwise or least amount of timing ?

What about throttle profile. Should I bring that up to 4 ?

Thanks

Yes. Seems to be what all the fast guys are doing around here.

Throttle profile affects the trottle response feel, it doesn't alter the power. I like the feel oif profile 3, you may like 4 better. Both will produce the same power, but 4 has a more aggressive feel... more power comes in earlier in the trigger stroke, but at full trigger, there's no difference.

Default timeing

now correct me if im wrong but is the timeing on the duo in order to get the least amount on motor you half to turn the motor to where the screws are in the first hole to the left of them when looking at them thanks

Ok sounds like a plan. I will try it out and let you know.

Also need to find the perfect rollout for the track. I was at 46T pinion and the car was way too fast for the track so I backed down to 42T and did a qualifier with ggod time. Then went up to 43T and my time was a bit less on the final. Could be me the driver !!! I will try 40T for that 3.25 rollout and ajust the rest of the settings.

I am amazed though on the speed we can produce out of 1 1 cell lipo !

Full clockwise when looking at the endbell is minimum timing.

I've actually run full boost and added timing on the motor but it's not recommended. I think the sensors are reading a little differently on 1 cell.

In any case you'll never get that pop that you had on 4 cell even in mod. The trick to single cell is keeping the corner speed up so you don't need all that punch.

Default timing

so timing does not go 0,10,20 in that order when looking at the endbell so what you are saying the it should be the other way 20,10,0 so all the way to the right is the least amount and all the way to the left is full timeing

It goes 0, 10, 20 and if you're looking at the endbell look at the middle hole.....the 0 timing mark is the hole to the left of the middle hole and the 20 timing mark is the hole to the right of the middle hole. Take note of the direction you turn it to get to the desired set of holes and that will help you relate to others when they say clockwise or counter clockwise. TRIPS I hope I explained this well enough to be of some help to you .

Good luck.

as you said, I reckon just a micro switch on the ground wire will do the job.
