I'm at the track now testing the new 194 version in my 1/12th scale, with Orion 2008 Spec 17.5. Last week on in the A my fastest lap was a 4.6 (yes a small track). In practice today my fastest lap 4.45 by just switching the programming. It feels like there is more rip especially off the line. My diff has never slipped but today one of the first things I noticed is my diff slipped slightly off the line. Currently running throttle profile #3. I may try profile #4 after heat one.

Looking at that huge track and seeing your motor temps after 14 minutes tells me you're undergeared.

Gear it up!

I would expect to see cooler motors with 194 software vs. 189 in all classes.

Default RS with a 6.5BL 1/12TH SCALE SET UP

Used my controler for the first time with a 6.5bl Nosram. After 5 runs on a very large track 110 ft straight 50ft wide.

These were the final settings used motor came off after 8 minute run luke warm.

Rollout 40mm
Drag brake 0
Brake 50
Neutral 10
Throttle 4
Dual Mode
Timing 90%
Current limiter 80%

Motor timing left at factory setting 4 degrees.

Car was awsome and motor cool.Duration not a problem.
Carpet in door and Jack the Gripper additive.
Wheels Jaco pink rears, Jaco Magenta fronts.

I tested the 189 vs. the 194 on Saturday with same gearing, timing and setup (Xray 008/Speed Passion 17.5/18 boost)...

189 - Time: 4:40/157 degrees
194 - Time: 4:58/143 degrees

didn't look at the temp but tested motor timing and boost.
I have now 16 boost and 24 motor timing.
I drove with a end ratio of 5,2
lithest of them all others were driving 5,0 and lower.
My best setup was at the moment 25 boost and 15 on the motor.
hath more power than a LRP SPX and a GM genius 120
i have lowered the boost because of the head.
Than the speed was the same but good acceleration.
want to try it again tomorrow with a bit more boost and lower motor timing. thinking of 25 boost and 10 to 12 motor timing.
feld like the 194 has more power with 5 cell than the 189.

I heard also some good resulds of the Tekin RS Pro with a mod motor on MACH.
good power and speed with low motor temps.

Goos job Tekin.

I ran 194 today with the same motor/ESC settings I had ran on 189 (10 degrees motor 15 degrees RS Pro) My motor temps were 10 to 12 degrees cooler on 194 then on 189 but the biggest difference was that the car was smoother. Rolling on the throttle seemed to be a bit quicker to reach top speed and very smooth.

Steve,

What do the 4:40 and 4:58 refer to?

Oh sorry...I was trying to run 5:00 minutes runs for comparison. Those were the exact times of my runs. I ran 4:40 cuz I broke before 5 mins but it was close enough

Thanks.

I wish I could get a better handle on whether 1.94 is working better for me, but i've been running so many different motors recently that it's tough to make any real comparison right now.
