Can Tekin/Any Brushless Motors get hotter than usual by over reving if your pinion is way too small, like what happens too brushed motors?

Can this happen in Spec class brushless?

I'm sure it could happen if you wanted to. I'm not sure why you would do such a thing.

In the past if you had a mod motor and overrevved it you'd burn the brushes. Brushless is more forgiving but certainly not idiot proof.

Hi.
Please advice what will be the ideal pinon gear size for a Tekin redline 10.5 running in a 1/12 (4cells) with spur size of 89t. Also what settings shall i be using in the Tekin RS pro with the 189 for the above setup on tarmac.
Cheers!
Jav

Default Setup for Trinity 10.5 Duo 1/10 TC

Just bought a Trinity Duo 10.5.

I have an RS Pro with 189 software and race 1/10 TC.
Was going to try max boost (30 deg) in the RS Pro & 0 timing on the motor.

Does that sound about right ?

Would appreciate feedback.

Thanks

Alan

I was also wanting to know the rear bearing dimensions of the redline S motors.

When i convert the Imperial decimal numbers from the website i get some wierd factions???

.125 x .375 x .15

=
1/8 x 3/8 x 3/20????

I my self havnt heard of 3/20ths

yes, watch temps and gearing though, as been tested by a chap and posted on our forum, you gain about 4-5000rpm

Default Set up

Just got my RS and going to run 17.5 Foam on small track with TC5. What pinion and spur should I start with? Hot wire did not come in, settings with out that would be helpful also. Thanks

Ok maybe a bit off topic but for those of you out there on the fence about buying this ESC....let me tell you rocks! I normally run the KO BMC but I tried a RS Pro in my WGT car. Combo was RS Pro, Hacker 17.5 and TP 5000 40C. First time on the track with the car at our local big race here and 3 count it 3 people told me I couldn't run a 10.5 in WGT. After coming off the stand from practice I showed them all it was a 17.5 in the car. This ESC is the real deal!!! Had the boost maxed and motor timing at 0 geared 98/30 and it was a rocket. Next I'll try it in my sedans and see how it does with a heavier car.

I told you that if it would make that kind of change for me .... Just think what it could do for a "Fast" Driver.

Also, remember the question on my VTA car ...... then he changed his ESC to a Nosram and was no faster! He beat me by better driving and not getting punted into the pits.

Guys if you're asking gearing questions it would be really helpful to get some track demensions so we can get you close. Without it we're shooting in the dark so to speak.

General setup for onroad is to run 0 motor timing and full boost with 189 software.

For 10.5 this is a bit off in my opinion and I'd like to see a setup like this one along with 15 degrees of motor timing:

Randy, I see that your 189 version is graphicly different from my version. Is that the only difference?

motor 0 timing boost 100%

I'm going to test it saterday on the track.
cant wait till than. must wait because my rear arm broke so i must wait till it arrives and that is friday
