8* of timing in built on a 17.5 or all DUOs?

I have the "189" software and the Hotwire from Tekin but I can't seem to load it. How do I get the "189" zipfile into the ESC?

I think you're going to have to unzip it with the pc, then load it.

Oh I get it, "189" isn't an update for the existing program....it IS the program.

OK, dumped the old softwire and got 189 all loaded up.

Next dumba$$ question, what's everybody running for TC 13.5 / 17.5??

What do custom profile 1 / 2 look like?

An ipod app for Hotwire would be cool. Kinda like a really high end pit wizzard!

Default Hot Wire Lipo Cutoff

I recently got a Rs Pro and a 13.5 combo. I downloaded the latest v. off teamtekin.com ran the update and all seems fine BUT. When I set the lipo cut in hotwire it reverts to default every time (no cut). All the other adjustments change to my settings no problem. I found this out the hard way. Now if I use hotwire I have to set my lipo cut after on the esc. It's easy enuff to do but it ain't right.... Any help?

Does anyone have a good rollout starting number for a Duo 21.5 on a semi-technical carpet track?

I'm running the 1.89 software.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Default Braking with boost on full?

Hey all,

I purchased the RS and redline 13.5 and so far i've been happy with it. love the idea of being able to update firmware + settings through my laptop so thats all good

Personally i've found the Roche Prince 13.5 motor having the edge over the tekin so far but i need to play more to see if i can push more from the tekin

Anyway onto my question, a friend mentioned this to me and i noticed it quite a bit today running 10.5. When the speedo is on full boost (30) the breaks seem to be very weak compared to my old Nosram ISTC speedo. He said they found this was the case when they used boost on the GM speedos so i wonder if anyone else found this and if there is anything else that can be done to counter it?

Thanks

Ian

Here's my initial setup -- let me know if you see any obvious errors:

RS v189
Sensored-only
SpeedPassion 13.5, timing fixed at 12 (per this thread), so 18 timing boost
Drag Brake 0
Brake Strength 100
Neutral Width 10

I'm leaving my FDR at the usual 4.55 (good-sized outdoor asphalt) but I have several steps of smaller pinion which I imagine I'll need (have temp gun). What are you guys gearing a 13.5 to in similar circumstances?

With the above setup (189, SP13.5, 18 boost, 4.55FDR) I was coming off the track at 135F after a 6-minute heat. I bumped the boost to 22 and was coming off at 165-170F so I left it there for the main. I'll probably drop one tooth, which will put me at 4.65FDR and give me a touch more punch in the infield. Overall, it was a nice gain going from 180 to 189 -- I was as fast as anyone on the straight while being geared better for the infield. Others were geared more like 4.4-4.5FDR. I also added back in some drag brake (25) with the 13.5 that I didn't run with the 17.5. That little bit of weight transfer helped my high-speed turn-in considerably. I mention this because adding drag brake probably would have bumped temps up a bit on its own.

I am also not running any sort of cooling on the motor. I may add a heat sink and fan so I can get a bit more aggressive yet.
