Tekin RS ESC sensored

ive set the rpm range 3900-8000. boost 45 turbo 5 but that extra 5 really seems exponentially better than the 45 boost i put in. if i take the turbo away, it takes a lot of boost to make the motor "Sound" like its reving up. at 55 boost, there was barely any ramping sensation in the motor, dispite having the low rpm set so high.
difficult to explain maybe.
just trying to wrap my head around this motor that has a lot of timing in it. if i have this much timing in the esc, isn't it overphasing the motor and isn't that bad?

Seems to me all your boost is over in no time, raise your end RPM.
For the LRP 13.5 I run 8500 start 26000 end on 2 dot timming, just gear to suit track.

17.5 turn 4 dot, single cell.
Free spinning in your hand you're likely getting all of the boost nearly instantly. On the track under a load things will be much different.

Noticing some thing odd with my car lately.
Using a 17.5 turn redline with tekin rs pro, running stock spec mode. It's fine under full acceleration but sometimes when the vehicle is stopped and I slowly pull the trigger, something is emitting a high pitch squeal and the car isn't moving, or it might move but it stutters quite a bit. Sensor cable appears to be plugged in fully.
Have tried moving the wheels and it doesn't appear anything is binding, the only time it feels like there is any resistence is turning the wheels when the motor is on the car you can sort of feel where the magnets are on turning the motor. Otherwise, no binding. Running 72spur, 36pinion with fan on the motor the ESC is never getting over 3 lights (around 110f) and the esc is coming off around 150f after 6 min of back and forth running (haven't had a chance to check temps after 5 or 6 min heats).
Everything seems fine except that little problem at low throttle from a stand point.

Sound like a sensor board or sensor cable that is out.
Replace sensorcable first to check this.
If not check sensor board for damage.
regards Roy

Oh and also, it does it only occasionally. Have another sensor cable here from my RX8 / Pro 4 combo, will give that one a whirl and see if ever does it.

Keep in mind that the Tekin speedos have sensor checking via the LEDs on the unit.
Follow their guidelines for checking the sensor system and the problem should show up. It sounds like it's starting in non sensored mode. Re-solder all your connections just to be safe as well.

Most 17.5 blinky guys on the team are Min throttle between 15 and 20 depending on motor and gearing.
When will be possible to set up a Tekin speedo with a IPAD that will be great.

Increase your min throttle setting until this goes away. The esc is sensing the rotor not moving and can get to a near "locked rotor" sense. This is due to the tall gearing, belt "bind" and weight of the car. We're asking the motor to get past a lot of "stiction" to get the car rolling. Essentially the esc's min drive isn't enough to overcome this.

This makes a lot of sense actually as it's only been happening since I really increased the gearing, I also lowered minimum throttle at the same time.
Cheers mate.
are the rs and the rs pro both stock legal,? and are any of you using the rs with a lower turn motor, 8.5

Hello
Anyone have race with the esc RS Pro and the Speed Passion modified motors with vegas 223.
I need a good starting point to utilize this motors :
SP V3.0 5,5T
SP V3.0 MMM 5,0T
SP V3.0 MMM 4,5T (Preference to this)
Thanks in advance.
Best regards:

I've never used more then 56% EPA on my 1/12th car, ususally around 52%. If it's not a sensor wire, sensor board or the servo hitting the end point, what size capacitor would you recommend as an Rx cap?
