Default Transmitter reset

Do I need to reset my transmitter (Fw/ Neut / Rev) each time I change a setting in the ESC with the software?

ShadowAu, You may get by, but it will depend on the car (2wd/4wd), traction and how heavy your throttle finger is. You'll definitely be pushing it.

auzzy_mate, you only have to recalibrate after you change neutral width or upgrade the firmware.

I suspected I could be trying to push it a bit hard... maybe an 8.5?

it will be a 4WD tourer... probably reasonably high grip and I am not the smoothest nor the heaviest throttle finger...

No, only when you update firmware rev.

It's possible but you are riding a thin line. I usually run a boosted 7.5 in mod touring with a non-pro RS. The ESC doesn't get very hot (usually 4 lights) but the motor is usually pushing 190*F. One wrong setting and the motor and/or the speedo would go poof.

Well you will be safer with an 8.5t surely.

I can send you my setup if you wish, this is what I use.

But what is the size of your track first and how fast/twisty it is?

Size of the track is 50 m by 30 m. Outdoor track with those 45 m as a long straight with sweepers at both ends. Infield is technical. Hope this descriptions help.

Hey guys,

I hope someone can help with some setup. Start and end rpm range what does having a small gap do and having a larger gap what do the different settings do? How does it affect the power curve?

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers
Jason

Jason,

Try this link to Tekin software guide ... lots of good info here, will explain the functions and settings.

http://www.teamtekin.com/hotwire_RS.html

Re: start & end RPM ... this controls how quickly your timing 'boost' kicks in.

Small gap, timing will kick in faster / harder... more aggressive acceleration. Too much timimg too soon can overheat motor / speedy.

Larger gap, acceleration less aggresive but throttle will feel smoother ... due to wider RPM range.

Cheers

Alan
