Start somwewhere close to a 4.0. Do half a run, check temps, recharge and do a full run, check temps, and adjust from there. Most guys at my track, indoors or out, are in the 3.6-4.5 range with that combo.

Me too, just the easiest and simplest way to do it. Works with LiPo, LiFe or a booster, and then lets the RS voltage regulator get on with it.

Default More punch needed for 13.5t D3 13.5

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some input into my current settings that I'm running on a Duo 13.5t motor for TC 2S boosted class.

The main thing I think I am lacking is the punch from low to mid. The power seems to wind up slowly and as the timming comes up and turbo kicks in it starts to go, there's a couple of seconds where it seems to lag behind. People catch up to me around the infield sections and seem to struggle with the power out of the turn until the timming winds up.

The track I'm running on is around 45m x 25m (147' x 82'), the straight is around 25m then onto a faster sweeper for around 8 metres, lap times are in the mid 15 seconds for me.

The details of what i'm running are
Car - Associated TC6 - 2s lipo
FDR - ~6.44
Motor - D3 13.5t - 0 deg timming

Speedo: RS 212
boost 50
start rpm 5283
end rpm 18014
Turbo 12
Turbo Delay 0.26
Turbo Ramp 2
Throttle Profile 5
Throttle Min 8
Current Limit off
drag brake off
brake strenth 90
NW 10
push control off
brake minimum 8

Any suggestions to get more Punch down low? It seems the speed passion guys and even novak have more infield rip then me. On the straight the speed seems good with me taking them at the end before the sweeper.

thanks
Jason.

Personally I'd reduce the start rpm to 3000 and reduce the turbo delay to zero and up the ramp rate to 3. If that doesn't get enough rip for you then also adjust you end rpm to 15000.
As with all things be cautious. Temp the motor after 2 mins just to be sure.

Also change your fdr to 7.5 and take the motor to +2 notches on the can. Do theses one at a time. As always check the motor temps after a couple of minutes

Lowering the turbo delay to 0 will bring turbo in to soon and create a lot of heat, lower the timing boisterous to 40 start rpm 3-4k end 18k 6.8 fdr one tick on the motor and 12 turbo delay .4 ramp 2

I must say I've never had any temp issues running 0 delay but as i said always check temps at 2 mins with any new setup you run

Add a little bit of motor timing. All your settings look fine. Try the motor timing then possibly drop a tooth on the pinion if you still need more grunt.

Most mod driver I know run 6.5T-4.0T, is not the RS Pro thought for mod and RS for "stock"?

Im just saying, it's very frustrating when you encounter it.
It's an easy "problem" to fix and the ESC will not run any worse with a bigger cap from factory right?

Any way now it finally runs like a charm, Im happy.

Default RS issue

I have had my rs for about 6 months and not had a problem until now. I was having issues with brakes, I mean there was none, no matter what changes I made via the hotwire. As a last resort I restored the default settings. After I did this the esc will calibrate with the Tx but the motor will not do anything. When I start it to calibrate it no longer makes the sounds it used to, no sound what so ever, even when turning it on. However, the lights flash like they are suppose to and it will go through the whole set up (neutral, throttle, brake), just without the sound. Even after the whole calibration process the motor will not do anything. The lights respond to throttle and brake input, but nothing happens with the motor. I have tried it with three different motors.

Does anyone have any ideas of what the problem may be.

I have also uninstalled and reinstalled hotwire two times on my laptop which I have always used and even installed it on another computer. Did the same thing of resetting factory default settings, all with the same result.

Am I missing something?
