Okay, are the Novak rotors interchangeable with Tekin rotors?

Not at all, shaft diameters through the bearings are different.

Thanks Ty, I appreciate you answering my question without being condescending.

I didn't mic the rotor, but the one I saw last night (my first time seeing a Redline) looked very close, and had comparable numbers on the rotor meter. I figured it would be convenient if I could use my existing stack of rotors in it.

I was really impressed with the build of the motor. I'm surprised they aren't talked up more than they are already.

Being our motor starts out as a hunk of billet aluminum and is cnc'd to that beatiful motor it's easy to try and find what else it can be compared to.

The rotors may appear to be close but clearly aren't once you get down to the measurements like Ty pointed out.

They're not interchangeable.

Thanks again for the info, guys.

Out of curiosity, why does it seem like everybody is so defensive? It seemed like an honest question since the rotors look so very similar, and I was genuinely curious since I own a lot of Novak rotors, but have become disenchanted with their motors, and am looking elsewhere. It feels like everybody jumped on me there. There's nothing sexy about an inferiority complex. Your stuff is great, and continues to improve. If I didn't think so, I'd just sell it and then tell anybody that asked that I thought it sucked.

It's the internet, that's how we roll. Kidding.. Probably because it's like saying "can my chevy motor fit into that ford". OR maybe you just read it with defensive connations since your voice has no inflection on the internet.

I didn't mean to come off as defensive, I just love these little weird faces!

Anyways, no harm in asking, I see where you're coming from since you already have a bunch of rotors laying around. I probably would have asked if they were interchangeable as well.

Adam - I'm sure you have seen the Tekin motors in my cars - WGT, 1/12 and Oval, and yes I'm pretty happy. The RS and RS-Pro have worked VERY WELL!!! which is where I picked up the speed in the 1/12.

Come to the track tonight, Friday or Sunday and we can talk about Tekin and 189 software.

Mark

Sweet! I used 188 on Tuesday and it felt pretty good. No luck getting 189 since apparently there are no team drivers in Colorado. :-( I'll be there Sunday for sure.

Ty, thanks man.

Hey all joking aside I can make a chevy motor fit in a Ford!

Seriously!

I agree about being defensive. But it would be like taking the heart and soul of a Ferrari(the engine) and removing to stick in a fast VW engine(porsche) LOL....

I've run the rs in my 10.5 10/th scale and my recoil w/ a novak mongoose sensored motor (sorry about the ford engine in a chevy), AND in my m18 w/ a castle motor (this time a hemi in my chevy hehe)

I have 4 of them 2x rs pro and 2x rs, the rs's get more use because they are smaller i have one in my 1/12 and i swaped it out of my vintage to run micro this past weekend.

Speaking of which, when is tekin coming out w/ sensored 1/18 motors?
