Just bought a couple used RS controllers and had a similar problem with one of them. Here is what I did. Plug it back into the HW and apply the firmware again. Then unplug the controller and calibrate it to your controller. If everything went well it should work now. If you want to change the custom profiles, plug it back into the HW and adjust and apply the settings.

When I originally changed the firmware, I also changed the custom profiles and for some reason this controller did not like it in that order. All the other RS's worked after the update, but this one needed it twice.

I keep hearing that Tekins are great for stock, but not mod. And that Tekin RS Pro thermals when running mod.

Anybody got any experience using the RS Pro for mod TC 5.5T? I don't plan on running turbo or boost - just mod.

Zip ties weigh nothing, so one each end as close as you can to it being attached to anything is even better.
It wasn't snagging on anything. The g-forces from the crash and the weight of the cable were pulling it out of the plug. With the cable locked down on a motor wire it doesn't come out anymore. A 90degree plug on one end of a sensor cable would be great cos in a TC5 I've had some T-bone crashes that have broken my sensor wires with a Redline motor.

Default Max Total Timing

Good day!

I have read that the max total timing that you should apply is 60*. My motor has 30* of internal timing at the zero mark on the endbell. Would this mean I should only add 30*(boost + turbo) more with the RS?

So the Orange guys have convinced you, eh?

Whom ever told you that has 1, never owned or used a Tekin, 2, haven't a clue about what they're saying.

The Tekins, both RS and Pro, have no problems thermaling like certain orange products or even blue ones. The RS is good to 5.5 and unlimited for brushless. The Pro can run anything.

Problem is that some people tend to use too tall over a gear and overheats the motor and the ESC but they would do that with any ESC since they don't know that when the turns go low so do the pinion teeth.

I ran a whole season with a RS Pro and a LRP 4.5 and never overheated anything.

Thank you for your answer.
Just out of curiousity, which orange product are you thinking about? I am pretty sure I know what you mean with blue ones, but not orange
(If you don't want to say it here, you can PM me)

My RS used to thermal about two minutes into a race in TC with a 6.5.

I switched to an RS Pro and have not had any problems since.

The RS says it can run as low as a 5.5 but, I believe that is only under certain conditions. If you go with the Pro in Mod, you should have no problems at all.

Seriously? You don't know what an orange brand is? Here's a hint, starts with N and ends with K.

My motor temps aren't super high and the car has plenty of power on the low and top end. My car balances fine with the Exotek chassis and isn't as heavy as yours. What other electronics are you using? My car is1425 with a fan.
I will try the setting this weekend. What about Turbo Delay?

I have the following in my car:
Futaba Digital Servo: S9451
AMBrc DP:
Futaba Receiver: HRS R203HF
Tekin RS Pro:
Tekin Redline: 17.5

I also have an Exotek chassis order, should be here Monday.

I have run 4.0t to 6,5t at the Heemstede track in the Netherlands and
it is never overheated or thermal shut down.
The nice thing is that I reached the same top speed aprox. 110km/h with all motors, thanks to the timing advance the only difference was the bottom power, very understandable I think.

Regards

What?????? Not sure where you're getting your info from but, you're wrong.

Tekins are great for stock and mod.

I've run an RS Pro in my 4wd buggy with 6.5 and in my TC with 5.5. No problems at all.
