Setup is

Epic Dual2 17.5
Middle on the timing
45 timing
10 turbo
.3 delay
Throttle profile 5
turbo ramp 3
and have tried between 6.4 to 7.2 gear wise. Seems to always be at 185 and up temp. Any ideas? This was at a tight indoor track.
turn the turbo off and go to the first mark to the pos side from center and see how it feels, leave everything the same with a 3k start and 12k end

Use Mark Burt's national setup, that will work for sure

So I should start out at the first hole and try a 6.0 final??

Yes that is what I would try first. Possibly even try a 6.3-6.5FDR depending on track size.

Thanks for putting this link up. The article cleared up a lot of questions. I would advise everyone who is trying to figure out this programming the ESC stuff on the RS/RS Pro. This will save you hours of reading back on the thread. If you cook a motor after reading this, well.....there is always silver can racing.

My newer RS requires a higher delay than my old one to keep the turbo from kicking in at the wrong time. The old one is fine at .2, the new one needs at least .4 with all other things exactly the same. I don't know what that means, but I guess don't be afraid to raise your turbo delay, even if it's higher than what your buddies tell you they run.

I see people asking for setups for motors but I think that with all the options v208 offers it is just like the suspension setup on the car. What works for one driver will be all wrong for another. I think we just need to get out on the track, run laps and experiment just like when you are trying to dial in the suspension. Start with conservative settings like the article implies, run some laps. Make a change and run some more laps. If your times drop and the motor stays relatively cool you are on the right track. It is time consuming but you will end up with a profile that suites your driving style instead of cutting and pasting a pro drivers setup and most won't end up on here complaining about weak brakes and motors going soft. Or burning up. Just a thought.

It seems I have good acceleration, but it seems like in one of the slower parts of our track, when partially on throttle, the car suddenly lunges forward and makes me push way off line. It was a while ago when I fixed this issue before so now I can't remember what I did to fix it. Does that sound like the boost may be coming in a little early and I should rais my start point? Right now my start point is at 5xxx and end at 15,xxx using a ballistic 17.5 with the timing one mark on the + side of the N.

He says he's on partial throttle, so perhaps not the turbo? Throttle profile? The 208 is rumoured to have more progressive throttle response, so maybe it just feels different? Just some thoughts...

I had that once with 203, I just dropped the start RPM one step to widen the range a little and it was fine.

I'm in the process of writing a 208 version of the guide. A few family things have been getting in the way or it would have been up there already.

Both the current and new ones are 12th scale biased as that is what I run, but 90% also applies to other classes too, so don't let that put you off.

Thanks for the kind words about it, happy it is helping people.

I also hope Mark Brown is able to update his guide. It is quite a task to do though as it is massive!
