Unhappy 208 update problem... ESC now not functional

Got a brand new Tekin RS Pro ESC and downloaded the new Vegas and Hotwire software.

Did the update as per the instructions and ESC was updated to 208 as shown in the advanced tab. However upon restoring default settings, error message was displayed.

"Some of the user values are outside the expected range! Your esc may not be compatible with this version of Hotwire."

I get the same message when i connect the ESC after restarting Hotwire software!

Now my ESC doesnt even light up and beep when i hookup the battery and switch on the receiver!

When i try to load the deafult settings and save it several times.... there are times when the above error message appears but there are times when it says it has saved it. However when i click on the current settings button to check what is loaded into the ESC, it goes back to the previous setting and doesnt want to load the 208 default settings!

Help!!

You enter END, then calc, then select start.

You have any basic setups for Turbo's on mods? Would love to try a few minus the sacrifices of a few motors

20Smoke,

Thanks for the reply.... spent a couple of hours figuring it out, but this time from a WinXP desktop.... got the same error message when i first hooked up the HW, but after updating the ESC with 208 again, it worked and was able to reset to default settings.

The previous update was done on a Win7 machine, so haven't tried to uninstall and reinstall again. I'll just leave it to the WinXP then, and maybe wait for an iPhone client when that gets out....

My settings from nats will be posted on the site whenever Randy gets around to it, he has them. It was a duo2 but the straight was a touch longer than 100 ft so a little adjusting should get you close.

The number that you manually enter is the end RPM, not the start. Your end should be much higher than 4,000.

I highly caution against anybody just popping this setup in their Tekin and running it for more than 30 seconds without temping. It will almost surely cook your motor.

hey guys

got the brakes working but the speedo seems to have lost all its power

i tried various setups with it including my best lap time setup but it is now 2 seconds a lap slower , i can go full throttle coming into the corner and it doesnt seam to pull

motor temps are only 45 to 60 degrees C

we have a 210ft straight with a flowing quick track

any ideas the only way i can get it to move well is to MAX timing and MAX turbo with gearing of 6.8 !!!

I am amazed everything has not gone up in a great big cloud of smoke, there's a max of 80 degrees of timing on it, and it all comes in early!
