They Tekin,

I am running an RS on my 1/10th offroad cougar with a 17.5T. I am new to 1/10th scale. any recommendations on settings to significantly boost my 17.5. I don't mind pushing limits. I am also thinking of getting a 10.5T. recommendations on settings on that would be great too...

I'm sorry, i really want to understand, but i feel completely lost. I am looking at some of the sheets and i see the following:

* timing advance
* timing boost
* timing delay

I also notice there is a timing on the motor as well. Are all these features on the 2.08 sw version? Any literature on this would be appreciated....

Timing advance adds degrees of timing over a specified RPM range
Turbo Boost adds even more timing when you are at full throttle
Turbo delay is the amount of time you are at full throttle before turbo kicks in

208 I believe has all the features of 203, but also includes the no timing setting(for sportsman class) where the LED blinks so you can tell easily that it is in that mode. 208 also added the ability to change profiles without the hotwire and improved the brakes.

I see... so the 208 does not add extra timing advancements.. but more to create a "true" stock spec class and to store 2 custom profiles and a few pre-set profiles to be programed on board of the ESC, rather than using a hotwire...

I see some 1/8 systems listed in your sig so I think you will also like the new Dual Mode Boost in the RS and Rx8. 1/8 scale and modified 1/10 may be where the advantages of intelligent timing advance provide the most benefit to tune the power band and actually turn faster laps.

For offroad the new current limitor might be the coolest improvement, literally. A cooler motor and tuneable power. 60 to 80 is a very useable range and I doubt many will feel anything above 80 at all.

For Onroad the improved brakes might be the coolest improvement, but a little current limit is nice to lower motor temps as well without sacrificing any rip.

Easier with preset timing profiles onboard will make some smile.

Spec mode... Well, we were too fast and this is their answer in some classes.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but in the timing screen there is now a new bar that shows timing advance and it is at 80. There are also the boost and turbo options that I am used to. Is this the overall timing advance or when my boost of 40 kicks in will it give me 120 degrees, and then when turbo kicks in at full throttle it will give even more?

Good day!

The way I understand it is the numbers are not degrees but are a persentage of a set number. There are 3 sets of windings in a brushless motor and each one covers 120* so if you add 120* you would actualy be back at zero.
