Push control is the opposite of Drag Brakes, and it more useful on brushed motors. It is equivalent of adjusting the throttle trim so that the neutral position on the throttle actually has a little bit of throttle dialed in. Brushless motors have such little drag brake that this setting is basically worthless for them.

The Timing Boost feature adds software timing to the timing set in the motor. It is supposed to be available in the next version of RS firmware/Hotwire. Not sure when the throttle curve support or additional profiles will be added.

With the ESC on, rotate the motor by hand, the last 3 leds should dimly light and go out in sequence as each sensor is activated.

If you dont go over 80 timing, start is pretty good, when you do go over (and you need to on 4 cells) it starts worse and you'll be a sitting duck a lot longer when you're spinning out or have been pushed backwards.

I have allways run a GM EVO3 9.5, with this motor starts werent that good.
I recently (last 2 batteries) switched to the newer GM 9.5 purple and starts have improved dramatically.
But this motor really lacks power and need a lot more timing and I'm limited to the soft. timing! (now you hear for the RS they simply make a function that you can add timing upon the (fixed) sensor timing).
That is strange neither randy nor jim have told me about that, i'll ask them... Either way you're running the wrong speedo for your class, you really want to be running the RS, the R1 never really worked that well on slow motors, especially in lower voltages.

If I hold the mode button when the 7 dim led's are on it will ramp up one time then go back to nothing. I also get an error message when I try to apply new settings on my hot wire. Any ideas?
edit: I have a motor that has a broken sensor board and it does exactly that, your sensor board is damaged.

Just wanted to share with you that I've used the new boost control to take 2nd place at carpet wars (UK) in 10.5 using a RS/Redline/tekin 3400 lipo today. As far as I'm concerned the boost control greatly improves the RS in spec classes, as well as in modified. As a bonus (or onsolation for not having TQ due to a backmarker) I did also get the fastest lap of anybody in 10.5 in the final

Azmio: Contact me here about your esc: [email protected] I have some questions before we think about sending it back.

What version of the software are you running in your R1? We have improved the sensorless starts with somftware 183+.

Honestly though for any 4 cell racing the RS will truly shine even over our own R1. The sensored start is very nice to have when voltage is low.

The Timing boost software is in the hands of the team right now. Public release will be soon.

Sorry I haven't been on here the last few days, I have been out of the office.

Default 1/12th setting up date

After a couple of months of trying different settings i have finally I hope reached the definitive.
Running a Corally with SP 10.5R BL and RS ESc.I would love to run the redline but not available in the Uk.

Drag brake 45
Brake 50
Neutral width 2
Punch 4
Timing 90 but as i run sensored not really relevant
Fwd/Brk
Current limiter 85
Sensored mode ticked
think thats it.These settings gives the car a smooth and very linear acceleration .Handling has improved dramatically. In fact it feels slow.

But we all know slow is fast.

Where are you finding the firmware updates? I've only seen ones for the R1 not the RS. Been looking all over Tekin's web site.

You have to install the hotwire software and have the hotwire hardware
Then the only you need is to connect the hotwire hardware to your pc and that pc have internet access.
Start the hotwire application and that's it

I've been running the RS and RS Pro for several months onroad and oval on the carpet with very good success, but I ran into something yestrday in my 1/12 scale car running the RS.

I know how to watch for the sensor lights to flash when the motor is rotated. However, the one in the 1/12 scale does not flash, motor coggs, and goes into reverse. So I changed the sensor wire thinging it was broken, but still the same, then I checked using the Hotwire to make sure I was in full sensor mode and it was.

Thoughts .... ESC? ..... Motor? ..... Operator?

I've had this happen before was always bad sensor wire. New ones arent always good. Sometimes they dont uncoat the wires enough and they is not good contact. Double check all end of sensor wires.

Also, try a different motor. If the sensor board is bad, that could also do it.
