You are probably right, I have switched now to a FDR of 6.01 from 7.41. I'm hoping to be able to test on thurs or friday.

I have noticed the "rubber band effect" when gearing too high as well, you can overcome it with push control if your motor happens to work best at that FDR.

Default NON-ramping???

If I got an Tekin RS Pro....will I have to worry about whether this esc has a NON-ramping preset profile? If this already exist with the TRSPro, what parameters can I dink around with?

What do you mean non-ramping preset profile? If you mean the firmware, they are all adjustable. And you might get a speedo with the old firmware on it, in which case you need a Hotwire and a computer to update it (the update is free).

I dont believe Tekin have released the spec software for the Tekin as yet. But you will need the Hotwire to update your current ESC. There is a fair bit to play around with.

I sure hope tekin is going to release the v208 soon. Cirtix is taking over the non timing spec class here in socal.

A little off topic. Whatever happened to mikky32? I haven't seen him post here in a very long time. It makes me think that 20 smoke and mikky32 are the same person. But 20 smoke's english is better. No offense mikky32

mikky32 was an active local rc racer. however he apperently was attracted to young boys and lately some incindents took place at our local RC-track. he now is under investigation for his behavior in an institute and might be found guilty... dont know yet. our local club and our club chairman is even getting hate mails for this... so yeah, he is out the running. he is not allowed to race at our local track, and in many dutch tracks as the rumors spread... i guess he will get back to rctech as this hobby was his life... we'll see...

208 is to be soon realeased

But in the mean time set your tekin
to 183 and turn the timing down you may
or may not be allowed to run it in
your spec class as it will not
have the flashing light

OK guys let's leave mikky to his problems and get back on track here.

Will v208 finally allow us to save setups/profiles to the RS ?

Default Tekin RS Pro

Had a lrp sxx stock spec for 6 month and after months of problems and low power decided to switch to Tekin rs pro, hotwire and a redline motor.

Operating the speedo looked frightening at first but i read up on this forum and found it was quite easy to work, put my hotwire on to the speedo i was racing on a small indoor track turned my turbo off set my motor timing to 50 and it was rapid.

I heard alot of people saying the brakes wernt as good as the LRP but after turning brakes to 100 on the hotwire i had plenty enough brakes and to be honest i thought the brakes were better on the tekin.

Motor came off at 40 degrees after 5 min with a fan and heatsink so car should be safe when i switch the turbo on at a big track.

Top marks to tekin, must say thanks to randy pike for his advice too.

Im sure the new version will be even better when it comes out.

Hi Guys,

was running my 13.5 at our local indoor carpet track this week and was a bit off the pace. I was experimenting with my RS Pro and came up with the attached settings.

The last run of the night was run with this setting (zero advance on the motor) and the ESC configured at attached. Acceleration was not liner, the car would come out of the corner with full throttle and gradually build speed, after a short time the motor would come on strong... right at the wrong time.

After thinking about it, I think the combination of the turbo boost and the rev range had the motor asking for allot of current under acceleration (more then it could handle). I'm thinking of adding in some delay (0.2 seconds) and changing the start revs to something like 1000 revs.

Thoughts/comments?
