12.3.6.2 The final Qualifying order will be determined by the sum of each driverís best two roundsí points.
12.3.6.3 First level ties will be broken by the sum of the laps/time results of the tied driversí best two points rounds. Thereafter if ties still exist, these will be broken by the best single laps/time result for each driver, regardless of the round in which it was recorded.
12.3.6.4 In cases where only two rounds of Qualifying could be completed, the final Qualifying order is based on the single best points, with points from the second best round being used as the first level tie breaker, and the total laps/time for the two rounds being used as the second level tie breaker.
I dont remember doing that this year at carpet nats. I have seen this before and I dont mind run it like this but whats the difference between the two nats?

Also in rule book... The qual points for Carpet Nationals changed in the 2007 book based on a committee request I believe. All I remember was it being presented and I truly didn't believe the carpet NEVER changes in track conditions... but, ok.... I gotta believe....

12.3.5 Except for Carpet On road, Oval, and 1:5 scale events, qualifying will be based on the ROAR Qual-Points System. Oval and 1/5 scale events will use each entrantís single fastest laps/time in a heat to determine the qualifying order.

Qual points are best for rubber and used for a few reasons,,

Tires..being a limit on tires and all are on equal amounts

Track Temp's.. Track temps change a track a ton more than carpet, Where a 20* track temp drop can increase speeds .5 per lap...

Cool thanks everybody. I dont read the rules, I just try to hang on to the car and get it around the track.

And it makes sense with the envirnoment playing more of a factor for ashpalt.

Hey I got skipped on all the lists! I guess my showing at the carpet nats might have had something to do with that though. I guess we will see real soon, as asphalt is more my style.
