Default RC Racers - who race FULL SIZE Cars

There are a lot of Race Car drivers who also race RC Cars, and vice versa...

This weekend one of those drivers DAVID MAYHEW who drives a RICHARD CHILDRESS DEVELOPMENT car for the "Golden Gate Racing Team" looked like he had a great shot at winning the "Jimmie Johnson Foundation 150" in the Camping World West NASCAR race at the Phoenix Int'l Raceway.

David had made his way upto 2nd when for the 2nd year in a row his motor expired. (Last year he was leading when it blew)

David's team is solid for '08, and hopefully we'll see him in the winner's circle soon.

BTW - David wheels Touring Cars - Off-Road Cars and Paved Oval cars just as well...

GET 'em David~

Things are headed towards a return of the SWT Series, but for
2017 the focus will be on the Encino Velodrome (and dirt oval racing)

There's also Gary Lewis, an R/C oval racer. He's also been a past NASCAR Northwest Tour Series Champion, He's currently running ARCA I believe.

I wasn't a race driver, but I was Race Engineer for Renault in the BTCC when Alain Menu was driving.

I was also in the first team of ten (engineer's) assigned to F1 when Renault first began powering Beneton all those years ago. Seam to remember we did ok

Now I make John Deere tractors go as fast as possible.....lol

Doesn't Tony Stewart own Custom Works? I've seen pictures of him at RC events when he appeared to be a teenager.

Indy driver Arie Luyendyk was a RCer, I believe I read that he finished 2nd or 3rd in the Netherlands on road nationals many moons ago.

Define racer, but Dennis Anderson of the Grave Digger Monster Truck fame sponsors a RC race each year. They run side by side elimination races like many Monster events.

RC Driver runs races at some NASCAR events, I'm pretty sure that some of the drivers involved have RC stuff, but I don't remember names.

You're not.

Donny Lia, 2007 NASCAR Whelen Engineering Modified Tour Champion.

How many people can say they won a NASCAR and a ROAR championship in the same year?

It is nice to see a race engineer from BTCC here at rctech. BTCC during the supertouring era was the best racing ever seen, I watched every race on TV.
The supertouring cars are in my opinion one of the nicest racing cars that have been built. Were you working many years on the laguna ?
