Yeah, I was racing RC with the Green Bro when I was 13 (I am now 36) Jeff and Mark were very fast.

Jeremy Mayfield brought some 1/8 buggies converted into sprint cars into our LHS a few years ago.

Pretty cool how a "racer is a racer" no matter the scale.

A bunch of the guys from the Newman Haas Indy car team were regulars at some of the local on-road tracks in my area. Pedro Campuzano who is or was the chief mechanic for Justin Wilson still races when he gets time.

I used to play around on dirt ovals, carts, and drag race a bit. Used a video about RC racing I made in 1991 as a resume to get a job with Buck, Buddy, and Randy Baker. You couldn't go to an RC track in the Charlotte area in the early 90's without running into someone that drove or wrenched in one of the Nascar series. Little E was running around in Legends cars back then. (motorcycle engine powered mini-cars)
I moved away in 1993 (dumbest thing I ever did) and have always wondered how racing is going around there now. May have to visit the Farm for the Worlds!
Still have my drag car in the garage, although it hasn't seen the track in 15yrs.

In F1, Lewis Hamilton, Jonny Herbert, Pedro De Larosa (former European RallyX champion) and reputedly Ayrton Senna.
Rob Miller used to attend a lot of big UK events but has now retired due to the commitment to his day job, design engineer for Honda F1.

We have a guy at West London who also occasionally raced Ginetta's and is currently saving up to run a Fiesta in some series.

Butch Miller and his son Hank used to race. Butch was 3 time ASA champ, and has run Cup, Busch and the truck series.

I take my Audi S4 to the Wednesday night drags at Searspoint (Infineon) once in a while. Last outing I did my best, 12.55, came in second to an Acura that was banging 15's all night long, I broke out, big time.

What's wrong with this picture? Luckily not my driver's side turbine . . .

I know the feeling One year, in my class the track champion drove a bone stock Chevy Beretta, and I've made it to the final round just to get eliminated by a beat up 17 second Silverado. I gave up running Street and Street Legal and ran Pro Street. Oh, and that spark plug doesn't look too good. Atleast you didn't break a rod at 7000rpm like I did

I've never seen any footage of Senna driving RC cars, but he had a sizable RC airplane collection (including tuff his Honda friends gave him, he had one painted in Marlboro colors and had "Ayrton Senna Special" written on it) that he flew regularly. But wow, I didn't know Herbert and De La Rosa play with these too! That's awesome.
