NY is a HUGE state, it would take you 12 hours to drive end to end you have to be more specific...

I did a net search in NYC for hobby shops. I have tried everything you can think of to narrow down the search but came to no avail. I really do not think that there is any in NYC at all. Lots of comic shops, gaming shops and toy stores just no RC sales that I could find. My search included a yellow pages online search. If there are any, they do not do a good job of getting their name out there.

There are plenty of hobby shops in NYC, but I don't think there are any in Manhattan. Do a search for Brooklyn Hobbies (mostly nitro) Big Apple Hobbies (good all around shop) and Bruckner Hobbies (good store with internet prices). Nagengast Hobbies is another.

If you can be more specific about what you're looking for I can point you in the right direction.

America's Hobby center moved to NJ so there's nothing left on Manhattan island...

If you take the M train to the Fresh Pond Rd stop in Ridgewood both Nagarest and NYC hobbies are within walking distance. Nagarest is about 3 blocks from the train and NYC Hobbies is about a mile...

Bruckner Hobbies in the Bronx is a good shop, went there a couple of years ago. Plenty of spares and although most of their supplies are Nitro related, you should beable to get some electric stuff there. From Manhatten, I took the subway - only about 40 mins away, get off at central bronx and go to the bus terminal just outside the subway/train station, and ask for a bus that goes up East Tremont road (i think thats what its called). The bus journey is only 10 mins from the train station.

America's Hobby Center just behind Maddison Sq Garden was a good HPI dealer - but I think that is the shop that has moved to NJ. I couldn't find any other good shops in manhatten, brooklyn and the bronx are you best bets.

It's now in North Bergen, NJ. Haven't been there in years but it used to be run by very knowledgeable people.
