Serpent S400 VS Xray 008 rubber edition???
 
Are they pretty much the same car? If not, Which one is better for carpet running rubber tire? Thanks.

the s400 has super weak shafts so if you plan to never touch the boards the s400 as it is a very car. You can get tamiya trf 415 msxx (46mm) shafts and cups and they fit well to mak it a nice car

There's new driveshafts for the S400 coming out. Lots of cars bend driveshafts also. These rc cars carry lots of speed coming in and out of corners and slamming into boards at 35 mph plus tends to bend things.

While I have not run the 008, I got rid of my 007 for the S400 and I'm glad I did.

I mainly run asphalt though. :D

Both cars are extremely capable. However, if parts cost is a concern of yours I would have to give the nod to the S400 as parts can be bought at almost half the price of Xray.
