Default Champs Warm-Up Races and General Info

Ok - the 2008 Racing Guide for the US Indoor Champs has been mailed and it's time to start thinking carpet on-road. I wanted to give a heads up on some things we have been working on.

The Gate will have the Warm-Up race the weekend immediately before The Champs (as always) at the same location. I'll be there. I haven't talked to John yet to see if he wants help with the announcing. AB Charles will be there to run ad supply a hobby shop.

PLUS, the weekend before that, Classic Hobbies will be having a Warm-UP race just south in Akron, Ohio. The track is brand new and has thousands of dollars in renovations to the old building. I'll be there annoucing that one. That is my home track and I'll be 'advising' the track layout for that race. They have a full hobby shop and a full kitchen to provide food on-site. The owner's mom will home cook you a burger 'to taste'.

Let's see, Orion Brushless motors will be available at The Champs for just $40 this year - what a deal.

Don't forget to enter the 'Best Paint' contest as last year all entries got prizes from Parma with the winner getting a brand new airbrush. Parma really came through on that front. I hear Matt-the-Cat's sister is working on another winner. You know the competition was tough if Eli's body didn't place.

All the wood for the track base is brand new this year and the track layout is an in-house design. It will be a fun track to drive.

In addition to the in-room schedule and video feed, I'll have a few new audio toys to add to the fun. I'm sure Nash (Robert) will have something new - he always does.

We have a new race director to take the load off of Mr. Bill and us announcers. I might even be able to work on my car this year.

The new PRO10 GT Class will be a big hit. We are surging past a trial/exabition class and right into a full competitive class. That's my class this year and I can't wait to race my PROTOform 'vette at The Champs.

As you know, we are full brushless (except as listed in the guide) this year. That should free up some Cougar hunting time in the bar - if you're into that sort of thing.

Keep checking back as I'll try to update the masses as new info comes to me.

Absolutely, spectators are welcome. Just ask for directions to the ballroom.
No fee that I'm aware of.

I sent my entry in yesterday, but that probably wasn't soon enough. If Dave Morrow is the first entry again I'll be convinced that he moves into your house every year at this time and personaly hands you his entry form just as you finish printing the first one.

It's my pleasure to serve as Race Director this year for the Cleveland Champs.
Michael, by all means make time to work on your car this year. I'll be working hard to field questions so that you announcer's can concentrate on what you're doing.
