Its weird, I feel like foam tire racers just want the rubber tire guys to go away. The rubber tire guys dont seem to have a problem with foam. They just recognize it as another (less fun ) form of racing.
Heck, it only make sense to run a rubber tire class. IIC, Snowbirds and the Carpet Nat's run them. I for one welcome it and I run foam tires.

um but you would run the novak race which is mix and all brushless this year. vegas is going to be all brushless and has a large rubber tyre following and snowbirds which has rubber may be the last hold out for brushless atleast for onroad as the brushless oval classes held there own at snowbirds in oval. so what race you going to go to? I atleast would go to this one for the competition. vegas and orlande for vacation but everybody knows the competition for carpet is in cleveland. I'm not thrilled about the rubber tyre but I'm still going to the race.

and it's nothing personally about the rubber tyre but I hope you understand for a 12th scale that can be a handfull to start with, it is a bit more intersting when the rubber tyres start pulling the thread out of the carpet. but a little birdy told me about something that might fix that for this race so we'll see. I'll tell you this after running a club race and putting a set of sticker rubber tyres on my tc just so I could win it I haven't figured out the appeal of rubber tyre. but your a racer so that means your one of us no matter what anyone else says. even you Larry!

Larry,

I've put my heart and soul into this race since day 1. Some of us do really love this race. As far as the rubber class I sure don't have a problem with it. For those of us that have been around for ever, it is still a 1/12 scale event. I admit there were some problems last year that hopefuly be addressed.

Well I for one am glad to have the rubber class at the Champs this year!
I've only ran it a couple of times in the past and prefer foam, but as far
as I'm concerned they're more fun to watch as a spectator, so I'm all for it!

I'm thinking about making this the first major race I have ever competed in. How quickly does the entry list fill up? I don't think I can make a commitment in May for a race in November.

Chuck, that sounds like a great idea.
Another idea that might help to speed things up would be, if your running more than one class in TC or 1/12 have more then one car.
I now that the race organizers will do there best to keep people from running back to back, but sometimes it can't be helped.

Noone should feel unwelcome at the Champs. The Foam TC guys really don't care about the rubber tire class being added as it won't affect their racing much at all. Some of the 12th scale guys will be/are disappointed because the potential is there to be a detriment to our traction level, but with some of the proposed changes and proper scheduling of classes it's possible that may be averted. It's just another class, and as long as the track doesn't suffer, I have no problem with it. So c'mon rubber racers, you begged for the class, now it's time to show up.
