Id be interested in what the experience will be like. I wont be there, if you are could you let me know. Im just curious more then anything

Perhaps an RC zamboni between heats to pick of the fuzz will solve the problem
I think the heavier TC's may pick a bit more under certain circumstances. I know my TC would pick some up occasionally at WOH, but that was mostly from the sweepers and the fact that we were running Magentas/Cyans. I still can't for the life of me figure out how I got more than one run outta that tire combo.....

I've given up TC all together at this point, but I'll be happy to inform everyone it had NOTHING to do with tires.

Uhhh, that's not what this is about. When foam tire was at it's peak, purple and plaid were the compounds. It may occur to you that as the tires became softer, and the cars became faster and twitchier, there was a net loss in foam tire racers. Now add to this the fact that the tires wear faster, and chunk easier, foams begin to lose their luster. Believe me, I am a dyed in the wool foam tire guy, but it is dead in the Chicago/Milwaukee area. This was not the case a few years ago.

Default 1/10th sedadns dying out

hey all: I agree that cost as well as the increasing sufistication/maintenance issues are reasons why the number of tc racers is down. I do think that any class even the re-birth of the pro10 class has the chance of getting out of control as far as cost and overly sufisticated cars go. We just need rules for pro10 that keep this class enjoyable for the novice/part time racer as well as competitive enough for the serious racer i.e. sponsored/factory driver. Thanks

I also think the economy has a lot to do with it. With gas at $3.50 a gallon etc people just don't have a lot of extra money to spend.

classes are not decided. When we have all the details then I will let everyone know what they are.I have been working on a body list for pro10 and some basic rules that's about it right now.I have no problem with rubber personally.

B-man I couldn't agree more with any new class or sort of new you have the chance to stop problems before they start which is great. I for one would like see pro10 type cars be fun for everyone instead of a select group.

Nice to hear that you dont have any problem with rubber tires. BUT it is obvious rubber racers wouldn't be well received at the Champs... at least from the majority of posts here... so I think you should just keep it a foam race. I can find other races to run rubber at and I wouldnt want to ruin the track for the 12th scale guys

The Champs has and always be a 1/12th scale race. When we first ran TC a lot of people hated it. Without the touring cars the race would have died several years ago. The bottom line is you have to keep an open mind to new ideas. The more classes that are added detracts from the race though.

We need Mercer, LaFara, and Paul Martin to all come back...... That would make for some good racing.

If you could get Junior to run some 12th again, it'd be one of those classic battles of the geriatrics.
