2. Which esc, motor are usually been used and matching the above cars? esp those of the popular ones. pls recommend.

3. Or any other recommendations in terms of chasis, combination of electronics such as esc and motor to recommend?

Objective: is to improve my skills further with a better than TT01D car.. pls help. thanks,.

i think you'll be pleased with anything other than a tt-01

apparently, unless you are a pro, you cant tell the difference between pro chassis'

but i dont belive the pro's can tell either

#2 - I'm not a drifter type, so take with a bucket of salt... If you are planning on using a hotter mod motor, and don't need reverse, I'd start looking to the classified section on forums like this and save a few $s. If you need reverse, I'd go to your lhs and get whatever they recommend. You may have to order it. Most new brushless systems have reverse and sometimes you can get a decent bargain with a bundled deal right from the lhs.

When it's purchased new, you always have the warranty to fall back on... If you support your lhs, you always have them to fall back on for service and parts support... Keep that in mind when picking out new electronics and chassis.

If money is no problem then i would go out and get the best kit.
And with the cars you have choosen it would have to be the tamiya TRF 416.
LRP have just unveiled a new SPX esc that has reverse if needed and caters for brushed and brushless systems.
If reverse isnt needed then look at other top of the line ESC,s
LRP sphere competition TC,Team Orion vortex.and many options from Novak.
ESC options stated are ones i prefer but some peaples will differ no doubt.
A nice low profile servo from futaba or ko propo and your away.

but how abt TA05-R or TA05... will there be any diff if compared to TRF416 which is very high end and kind of pricey, and in term of drifting characterics... Or for TA05.. u still need to hop up and the drifting characteristic will be better? and will the hop up ended more expensive...

As for electronics, i just want to buy one that can last me long in this hobby and can be easily transfered to another better chasis in future. cheers!

ta05 has a more controlable drift over the 415 or 416 because the motor is at chassis's center point. 415/416 have faster turn in but it would also turn into a spin faster.

I really don't think it's worthy to get a 415 just for drifting. They are top end racing cars, not drifters, so they have motors mounting as further back as possible to give traction out of a corner, just the direct opposite to what drifters want the car to do.

Like many said, TA05 will be a better choice. It's mid-range price will go a long way; and if you want, you can dump loads of bucks for upgrades. But if I get to choose, I think the TB02 is yet a better choice than the TA05... it's just hard to find a set in my local store now...
