Yeah, it's called practice. The break-in isn't for the motor, it's for the driver to learn how to handle the power. No more smooth laps at the end of the run as the motor slows down.

it is not in how powerful the motor is, but how much of that power is getting to the wheels.
First upgrade I made to my motors were ceramic bearings.
I usually don't free up my bearings till the first cleaning. I guess I like setting the ball/races when there is grease to carry off any fillings that may break off. Just like diffs, those little balls make a tiny little groove and I feel that is when the most wear occurs is when the balls are setting.
