lipo charging on an overloader
Hi, first sorry if I have put this in the wrong section, I thought I seen an overloader thread the other week but cant seem to find it now,so here goes.
I am looking to be running lipos such as 3200 trackpowers and was wondering what are the best settings to set the Overloader charger to for lipos.
volts, amps,cutoff dis,temp etc and anything else that appears on the overloader screen.

LIPO setting on 7.4V for 2 cell packs, capaticity on 3200 for a 3200, 4900 for 4900, ...
Then charge current keep going up till it stops, it normally doesnt want to go over 1C (if yours does DONT), 4900mah= 4.9amps, 3200mah=3.2amps, ...
I always use my Trakpower balancer between the charger and the pack, its needed.
discharge, if you do that set the voltage cut-off to 3.0V per cell or HIGHER.
You can discharge LIPO with the Overloader at 2C, 4900mah= 9.8amps, 3200mah= 6.4amps, ...
Be sure to monitor while charging/discharging and double check settings.
Now LIPO users may wonder why discharge lipo, i do that once in a while as i think that balancing in 2 directions may be better still, ie. discharge/charge.

The first thing you need to make sure of is that the charging mode is set to Lipo (CC/CV) and not Nimh (Delta Peak).
Then you set the capacity to be whatever your battery is, and the amp rate at 1C. That's 3.2amps for your 3200 trakpower, or 4.9 for the 4900 one.
There's never a need to discharge a lipo on a charger as you don't need to cycle them like NiMH batteries.
As for temp, I don't have the figure to hand right now, but mine don't get hot at all when charging, I'll double check it and post an update unless someone comes along before

LIPO may NEVER EXCEED 60°C, but they normally cool when charging as that is one of the big advantages with LIPO.
