RB30, RB50 Version 1.4a update (9/June/2011)
*More accurate temperature cut and Lipo cut off
*New protetion function prevent radio jam or interference during ESC startup
*Updated drive profile/brake profile
*Instant reverse function for reversed gear box (Shaft driven car, turbo is disabled in this mode)
Instant reverse function is activated by press and hold the setup button when the throttle is in neutral position.
Once set, the RED/GREEN LED will flashes and stored to the memory, no activation is needed in next off/on cycle.

By the way TW usually has the info on the upgrades in the notes section when you download and unzip the file.

Would using this capacitor on the RB50 cause any problems?

it came with another brand of ESC with the same ratings,

using it with 5.5BL in a 4x4 SC

i would use the team wave one that came with it if i could find it,

i know doing so would void any warrenty but this speedo is a year old.

thanks!
Matt

MattFromSooke :

It is fine if the cap is from NOVAK and NO if this is from China brand ESC

TEAM WAVE has optional capacitor, you can contact us for detail.

Just to quote and old reply to one of my posts so I can refer to it for my next question.

This was in response to me asking how much each unit of time shift represents in degrees.

4: 15'
5: 22.5'
6: 30'
7: 37.5'
8: 45'
9: 52.5'

Turbo:
1: +1.875
2: +3.75
3: +5.625
4: +7.5
5: +9.375
6: +11.25
7: +13.125
8: +15
9: +16.875

Beware that this definition of timing may differ with other brands, this is for reference only. Also, different algorithm used in different brands will yield different results although timing is the same!
Then I asked....

Do you have something simialr for the values in the "Gain"?

Now onto my next questions with bearing the above in mind

1.) How is the "Time Shift" applied with regards to the speed of the car/motor from stationary?
e.g. Car is stationary and full throttle is applied. Since we haven't met the criteria yet for Turbo to come in, only "Time Shift" is applied at this point.
Does "Time Shift" gets applied right from the start at 0 rpm when the throttle is applied... at the rate specified by the "Timing Gain" or is their a delay of some sort that specifies that "Time Shift" only comes in above a given rpm or after time delay?
(Is this perhaps what "Drive Profile" is for? It specifies the delay of how/when "Time Shift is applied?)

2.) What happens to the remaining timing from "Time Shift" when the criteria is met for the" Turbo" to come in....
Lets say your "Time Shift" is set to a value of 7 (37.5') and your "Turbo" is set for 9 (16.875') for a total time gain of 54.375'. (Lets assume for this scenario that the straight is long enough to apply all Turbo timing)
You round the corner entering the main straight and apply full throttle. Turbo doesn't kick in right away due to the "Turbo Gain" which is set for 0.3 secs. So in the period only "Time Shift" is applied.
After the delay of 0.3 secs, "Turbo" is now ready to kick in but the ESC has only applied up to level 5 of the "Time Shift" (22.5')
Since you have a setting of 7 for "Time Shift", what happens to the remainder of the unused "Time Shift" of 15' which hasn't been used up yet?
Does the 15' get dumped onto the motor to get to 37.5' and then Turbo of 16.875 gets applied to get to a total of 54.375' (Time Gain + Tubo).....
or is the 15' dropped and Turbo gets applied starting from 22.5' and you only end with a total timing of 39.975' and you loose out on the 15' of timing?

I hope all that makes some sense.

Thx

SeanV,

A graph explain more than thousand word.

Turbo will not kick-in if timeshit is not complete.

Thx that helps

Just the answer to my first question....

"1.) How is the "Time Shift" applied with regards to the speed of the car/motor from stationary?"

Based on the graph, Time Shift kicks in from the very start of applying throttle, i.e 0 rpm?

TimeShift start at 4000-5000rpm, before 4000rpm it runs zero timing
