Wasn't their a problem with some motors with tekins in regards to non existant brakes? Did they also not do enough testing?

The rate of development at the moment with all brands of brushless equipment will mean the occasional teething issue.

I am sure Team Wave will sort it out soon. In the meantime don't use an x12 with ab RB-S and turbo on unless you like seing you car do some acrobatics!
Yes Tekin did have softer brakes depending on what rollout and timing there was on the motor but at least the ESC still went forward and no threw the car into reverse.

I have given up on selling Team Wave ESC's .... again. The shipment I got recently once again has had a failure rate above 75%. The first batch failure rate was 100%. Not worth the headaches

Ciao Max, you can just flash the second. It is the complete code for the control.

So was looking to get a new RB-S for my kyosho RT-5. ANyone have any personal off-road use with these ESC's? Seems only onroad here on the forums.

Also, if ordered directly from Team Wave will it come with latest software update is is the hand held controller needed. Will be running 17.5 mostly.

Thanks,

Thanks,
dun think the turbo boost will be good for off-road driving... even on-road cars can be a handful to control when the turbo engages.... for off-road, i think the car will just break traction when turbo turns on....

my opinion... i might be wrong...

HERE IS SOME INTERESTING INFORMATION FOR TEAM WAVE USERS

You now doubt have seen the reports of the Team Wave RB-S ESC not working properly with the LRP X12 motors. Teamn Wave issued an updated software to try to fix the problem.

But did you realise that despite all the lies told before, the RB-S software can download onto the RB30 and RB50 and work fine.

This has been done easily in Australia with the software upgrade that was issued for the LRP X12 issue.

It becomes obvious that Team Wave was deliberately hiding the fact so that he could sell more ESC's to racers. No doubt that the RB-S is actually just a RB30 with the new software

In case you have not understood .....

YOU HAVE BEEN CONNED

This is how Team Wave treats their customers. Have a good think about it. Upgradability was one of the selling ponts of the RB30 and RB50 but despite this the upgrade issued was a minor tweak .. nothing at all. When the first big upgrade came along, Team Wave issues a new ESC and tells everyone "sorry not compatible"

Very low ethics from this company

Yes, it's interesting.

if RB-S Firmware is Updateable/Upgradeable
to RB30 and RB50 Firmware

What if RB30 and RB50 Upgrade to RBS Firmware,
and allows to used 2x Turbo ?

.

Errrr, please explain. )Read what I wrote.

As I said .. the RB-S "software/firmware" has been loaded on to RB30 and RB50 ESC's here in Australia. Team Wave said it was not possible so he could sell more ESC's

RBS firmware is not compatible with RB30/50 when the time it was released. We spent 1-2 months to change the software such that it can fit to RB50 that user required. Of course you can upgrade your RB30/50 with the RBS firmware but warranty will be void and this is understandable.
How can we sell more if we say not compatible? Will people buy one more RBS because RB50 is not compatible? We don't think so. If we sell more RBS, that means we will sell less RB50. If we say it is compatible, we will sell more RB50 but less RBS....Bare in mind that the price of RB50 is higher than RBS and our profit is even higher!! The intention of RBS is offer user to have the best performance at the lowest possible price! LRP TC SPEC and SPX also share the same hardware and sell at the same price too. The different is also the firmware alone.

Greg Fisher (Cannon), please stop attacking our company and ruin our name any more as every body know you are the dealer of TEKIN and hobbywing !!!

As a lot of users are using RB50 and would like to run stock, that's why we change the firmware such that it can fit to RB50 but obviously we can't offer warranty for that since RB50 is designed for modify racing!

It is so easy to make the RBS firmware non uploadable to the RB30/50 but we haven't do that!

Clever user can read through this thread and note the intention of somebody. As a manufacturer we keep clam for long time but I think we need to say something to protect our company at this moment. We are not here to start war with anybody else but to serve our customers. Thank you.

Thanks,
I have run my RB50 in 4WD Modified, I found it to be very good, I used the turbo with the driving profile turned right down to make the bottom end nice and smooth but it was still ballistic on the top end.

Max,

How convenient that you say the RBS software is now compatible after you have been caught out.

Face the facts Max ... you lied and have been caught out. The fact that the Australian distributor knew it was downloable and told people who knew to not mention it is more than an indication that again you lied.

Your post makes very little sense. You say the RBS software is now compatible with the RB50 but if you put it on you void the warranty????? Make up your mind Max

The simple truth is that you quickly released a software to fix the LRP problem and forgot that somewone could try to download.

You simply were too greedy Max ... not looking after the customer. Hoping to force them to buy another ESC

As for what ESC's I sell? .... well remember Max I sold your ESC's but gave up because of the 100% failure rate. See the attached picture. Unfortunately all the failed ESC's couldn't fit in the picture

I must admit the second batch I got recently were better ... the failure rate dropped to only 75% failure.

I now sell brands that do not fail like the Team Wave

How could an ESC capable of handling Mod horsepower and current draw not be capable of running the RBS software? You originally said the hardware of the RB30 and RB50 would not work with the RBS software but suddenly you have found a miracle and now it works

You also mentioned LRP using the same platform and issuing a new ESC for the SPX. The difference is Max that LRP never offered upgradability. You promoted the upgradability from the beginning. Another of your lies

I just uploaded the new RB-S firmware to my RB-50 and I can confirm that now I have 2x turbo and 7 timeshift profiles.
We have a practice this afternoon I will see how it feels (unfortunately this is a really tiny track with no timing).
