Looks like the testing needed to be a bit wider before release

Hi,

I just got my 2nd ESC RB-s and i have the original RB30. I would like to upgrade both firmware. Do i have to update the RB30 firmware in sequence? The RB-s looks like there is only 1 update other than the original firmware.

I will be joining 2 class. 21.5 and 17.5 which should i put on each class RB-s for 17.5 and RB30 on 21.5? I also have only 2 lipo a 5000 28C and 2400 20C.

What settings should i start with?
17.5
21.5

Thanks !

Hi,
first of all: great how fast a firmware update came for the x12 issue
Are there plans on doing new firmware for thr rb-s for 13.5er motors? I need more possibilities to adjust timing at different rpms to be competitive against the new lrp and gm speedos And could it get possible to drive without sensor? Currently I use corally red series 13.5 without sensor and this motor has so much more power and the only way to be as fast as 9.5 5 cells in our sport class in germany. Id like to use the tw speedo because its smaller and lighter than a gm

We tested the software last night and it still failed Teamwave please do a little more research and a let us know whats going on as i want your esc but only once they work with lrp x12 motors it must be something in the firmware

Regards Mark
Ps esc works fine with other motors

ok if its known now that x12 dont work properly with the rb-s, than use another motor!

I have not used my rb-s yet, but I have full faith that it will keep up with the competition.

The problem with the X12 is that it has alot of timing in it using the facrtory setting. An Lrp driver using an LRP SPX esc immediatly retarded the timing to -10 on the X12 17.5 before even using it with the advanced timing settings on the esc. Seems like it would apply to all of the advanced timing or boosting esc's as this is how one of the fast guys in our series runs the x12's with the tekin esc's and is very fast this way. The only thing lacking from Teamwave is that we do not know how much timing each setting has or how much boost timing is put in with the turbo proflies. I am really interested in trying out the latest update to maybe use a little more gear and not run into heat issues. When using motors with adjustable timing and esc's with boosting profiles you get too much timing and things do not work so well. If you want to run the turbo profiles and high time shift settings turn the timing down to 0 on the motor and go from there.

During the testing last night we set the x12 to -10 and used the new firmware and it would still send the car backwards or just oscilate the motor from a standing start.

Just an update on the RB-S esc in my WGT Associated 10R5. I have been playing with gearing, timeshift and drive profile a little more. I went to a regional race last weekend in Kamloops, British Columbia in Canada for the Mid-Winter Challenge Race check out www.tvrcrc.com for details and results.
The track was 36'x80' and had a fairly flowing track with a couple of 180 degree corners thrown in and a nice fast chicane. I ended up with 31/96 with 55mm tires, turbo #2, timeshift 6, drive profile 7 running an Orca 13.5 fixed timing motor. I ended up Tq'ing every round and winning the A-main by 2 laps......the RB-s is stellar in my WGT car and I am never down in power.
Thanks......Dwayne Flodell

It seem that there is a lot of timming in the x12 motors! Even LRP say you can't use profile 7 and 8 with their own brand of motor?? That is the same as using an RB-S with turbo off, the problems only occur with x12 and turbo on.

Wasn't their a problem with some motors with tekins in regards to non existant brakes? Did they also not do enough testing?

The rate of development at the moment with all brands of brushless equipment will mean the occasional teething issue.

I am sure Team Wave will sort it out soon. In the meantime don't use an x12 with ab RB-S and turbo on unless you like seing you car do some acrobatics!

Hy there!

My RB-S is on the way and i plan to instal it in my F103 F1 with an LRP X11 17,5 motor.

Is the reverse problem only with the X12 or also with the X11 Motors? ANd can anyone explain the tech, details between them X11-X12 and the Team Waves Linear ones?
