Default So I've been back into 1/12th scale for about a month . . .

So I've been back into 1/12th scale for about a month . . .

Isn't there one website that has *everything* I need/want for this RC12L4?

Associated's site sucks, "please write down the part #'s on paper" . . .

CRC's site keeps dumping on me when I try to buy something.

BMI doesn't have the front springs I want .. .

Tower is nearly worthless for 1/12th scale stuff.

Where do you go? I know there musn't be a one stop shop.

I just want to give the vendors some money! Lunsford and RC4Less is doing it . . .

Thanks Mike, It takes time to get up to speed with the vendors, I've heard IRS but didn't know it stood for Irrgang Racing Service . . .

I tried BMI for .016 and .014 front springs but no dice. .018 is the softest. Maybe that's a tell tale tuning tip . . .

Jeff

Ahhh . . . the cut down front control arms . . . I guess there really is no one stop shop . . .

.016 and .014 springs collapse way too easy. None of the setups call for them either. I wouldnt go any softer than a .018 buddy.

Here ya go with the parts BMI has stiffer springs:

IRS:

IRS1161 1/12th Pod Upgrade - For Associated 12L4
IRS219 3 Hole 1/12th Scale left Clamping Hub
IRS124 Right Side 3 Hole 1/12th Scale Hub

IRS4044 IRS VCS Micro Shock Kit - Nickel/Teflon (Highly recomended)
IRS4221 IRS Lower Suspension Arm Kit for Associated 1/10th & 1/12th
Front Ends

BMI:

DB2090 Front Springs, .018"

If you're ordering stuff online for 1/12th scale Stormer is by far the best.

Hi,

Sorry about the teamcrc.com server issues.... it drives us crazy too. But good news, Team CRC is switching to a new server sometime tomorrow (March 28). We are hoping for less server crashes and issues.

Look for a complete "revamp" of the site during the summer. Thank you for your support and patience.

Hi mate, I have used Stormer Hobbies loads and have always been happy with the service I have received, and that's from them to me over here in the UK. We are also lucky enough to have a specialized 1/12th shop quite close to where I live over here (Action Model Centre) which usually has everything you could ever want to do with 1/12th. The only problem though is the fact that everything there is at UK prices which is quite a bit higher than US prices. All the best, Chris.

There really isn't a one stop shop that has everything you could ask for.

When I do mail order, I use either stormer or Ashford hobbies - http://www.ashfordhobby.com/

Ashford has some nice thin gage wire that's great for brushless and mod (TQ racing)

Thanks for all the help guys.

I had hoped to get some .016/018 springs for my local track because I'm having trouble getting the car to turn left at low speeds. The track has 7 right turns and 3 low speed left turns. I didn't have the 018's or 016's but I did have a set of 014's. I put one 014 on the right front and the 020 on the left front. The car was much better but now the right front would bottom out around the rest of the track. Seeing as I don't have an accurate way to measure toe I figured I would futz with the springs I have.

I ordered some 018s but still want to try the 016s . . .

Thanks Again
