Default Motor cooling fan

I have read where people are using computer fans on their chassis to keep their motors cool. In the Aug 03 issue (page 118) of Xtreme they show a tiny fan mounted on a chassis at the Reedy race. I have checked a few web sites for a fan that size, but I am not sure exactly which size that it is. It looks smaller than the Quantum esc. that it is mounted to. If anyone knows the size, or a part number and a place where I can order one please let me know. Also, do you use a 5v fan or a 12v?
Thanks

Man, can't you read in the picture, that's the turbo

I'm not sure where to find a fan that small, but you will want a 5 or 6 volt fan if you plan on plugging into the reciever, or a 12 volt fan if you want to wire it to the battery.

I would suggest you go to a computer show, they have them a lot in my area at least. It'll be cheaper there than at a store plus there's more stuff.

The bigger fans are 40mm size and the smaller ones are 25mm. Most of the 5v stuff will be used for Lap tops. If you do a search you can find some really cheap like 5 bucks a fan. I also read that Orion sells the 25mm ones for use to bolt on to endbells to keep the brushes and stuff cool.....so check them out too.

That's pretty cool, I would never have guessed that Yokomo makes one.

Heres one that Brian Kinwald uses on his ESC. You could look into that more.

Thanks for the link, I'm going to look into doing one on my R2. I was just using a radio shack fan before...

How do you wire a 5v fan to the receiver pack? Where does the positive and negative wire connect on the receiver?

thanks

On eBay, 40mm fans are like a buck a piece. 12V fans will work with 5V albeit, slower and less air movement.
