Not being mean or anything but I hope they're not...a totally new car from the ground up would be fantastic(as long as it works)

Back to the TCM.... looks like a 416 master class

1, 2, 3 in Q, and 1, 2, 3, in the first two finals...

Looks like Marc R has won it again too

Cheers
Ed

Tamiya certainly put together a strong team, huh? Seems like that new car works pretty well, at least in the hands of immortals. :-)

Back from the race. Just saw at the official website there were some small reports and pictures from the race, also some good actionshots. As I was racing there I did concentrate more on this. I have some pictures but was not able posting these there. These need some resizing so I think I could post them tomorrow.

At this race you never know what will be happening or who will be missing the A-Main at the Masters class. Last year it was Marc Rheinard who missed the A-Main, this year this happened to current Worldchampion Andy Moore and European Champion Ronald Völker. Especially the chicane at the infield was very tricky and you could win or lose a lot of time there. If you were fast but hit a dot this would send your car flying onto the main straight or even worse into the wall of champions what could mean a broken car. At this chicane a lot of guys were careful and a few guys as Marc Rheinard were superfast there. Most impressive drivers for me and some other guys at this chicane were Viktor Wilck and young Yannick Prümper.

Right from the beginning you could clearly see that Tamiya has a very fast car again with the 416 and a very strong team. Itīs usual Marc is one of the fastest guys but Viktor really did impresss me also, he really was as fast as Marc. Jilles was very fast in the Xray days and same is with Tamiya now. So in the end a very clean result for Tamiya with Top 3 in qualifying and 3 on the podium.
I also was impressed from Alex Hagberg and very young Yannic Prümper driving a Serpent.

Cars in the Masters A-Main were 3 Tamiyas, 4 Xray, 1 Serpent, 1 Hotbodies and 1 Associated.
I have to say I didnīt saw all of the cars in the pits but itīs clearly brushless now. For the BL ESC LRP/Nosram was the choice of most drivers. A few guys used GM or Speedpassion but I think I saw no Tekin or Quark system. If someone used Novak Iīm not sure at least nobody from the top drivers. For BL motors it was a split between LRP X11 and Feigao (Speedpassion, GM Racing, Orion, CS) based. You could see a large number of the new Speedpassion V2 motors as used by the Tamiya drivers.
Regarding the Serpent guys I heard they werenīt using the usual balldiff but bevelgeardiff.

One big improvement over last year was the carpet. Last years carpet was a completely disaster, I think everybody will remember the "hairy" cars after a run. This time there was absolutely no problem in this direction, it was just the fact the carpet was damaged several times and needed some repairs. Iīm not sure if the carpet was a little sensitive to damage or if some cars just had not enough clearence or protruding screws but this wasnīt a major problem.

I saw some of the forum members at the results lists but didnīt meet them in person. I hope they had some fun at the race.
For me personally qualifying (HPI Challenge series) wasnīt to my liking but during the final I had more luck ending in 6th position from 10th on the grid. Itīs just bad our class wonīt be run again next year.

At least there were enough guys with a videocamera. If I will find some I will post the links here. Please look at the official website also, maybe there is something in this direction but I didnīt had enough time for seeing everything there.
