As for the "best" LiPo out I don't know if I can answer that but some of the most common LiPo's out with great history are the Team Orions.

Your going to need a charger capable of LiPo charging.

No discharger is needed, unless you plan on balance discharging your cells, which not many car guys are doing with thier LiPo's because its not totally needed.

An equalizer in LiPo terms is a "balancer" There are chargers out thier with this feature and then there are stand-alone units. This is a good investment, however it is not really needed with the orion LiPo's, at least I have never needed to balance, the LiPo's have stayed .01-.02 within each other.

A LiPo cut-off is needed, you could go without one as long as you only ran for a couple minutes and made sure you were not letting your LiPo get below its recommended cut-off voltage. But its worth it just to get one, or get an ESC with it built in. Pretty much any newer high end esc.

Hope this helps you with your next purchase.

charger = You'll want a "GOOD" lipo charger

equalizer = N/A

dis charger = You don't need a discharger for Lipos.....

balancer = You will need to keep the cells in the battery equally balanced.

cut off to add to speedcontrol = If you are using a brushed esc it is very highly recommended that you also use a low voltage cutoff. If you don't you can cause serious harm to the battery or yourself.

You'll want a lipo charger + lipo balancer.
It used to be seperate items, but now there are some manufacturers who incorporate them into a single unit for convenience as well as price reduction.

This is one of them, a good one in fact. Small and blue backlit

Or they even come in AC/DC version which you can just plug direct to the wall. Saves you on hooking up the external power supply and tons of wires on the put table.

Maxamps for bashing and for racing, Orion seems to be popular.

you can get away with an basic eflite charger for 30 bucks. make sure the charger comes with a CC/CV mode for lipos if you pick another one.

Novak sells a LVC which I hear good things about. http://www.teamnovak.com/products/li...ule/index.html

Another one you can use is this one. http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp...OD&ProdID=4383

The latter is designed for airplanes primarily but it can be used in a car. It would act as if the batteries suddenly dumped.
