For the people who are not in the know. Hacker motors have been the cutting edge for small scale brushless r/c for a long time now. These motors typically sale for 3 to 4 times more then feigos do & now they are undercutting the companies that are bringin in feigos, rofl. Is there anychance somone can sujest a hacker w/ a 5mm rotor for the 1/8th scale bl buggies?

I got some offroad questions about the motors, should I just post them here or should another thread be started in the offroad area?

Anyway, for these motors, how well are they working with sensorless ESCs?

I thought according to ROAR rules you had to have 5000 motors available in the US to get approval. I cant believe they sold out of all 5000 in the US in a matter of days. I also assume the spirit of the rule is that you maintain availability. Is there a risk these will lose their ROAR approval?

Just curious...

I believe unless you are on the conditional approval list, which expires the end of May, an approval will be good for the entire year. I dont think approvals are pulled back mid year.

They will need to resubmit for approval next year. Is the rule 5000 at the time of approval, or just show business plans and means to produce and distribute 5000 in the calendar year approval is granted? The novak 17.5 was approved before almost any stores had them in stock, much less had them and sold through 5000.

Proof that they have been produced and available for sale in the US (rule 8.4.3.3) is what the rule says. They are to provide that after labratory approval. I doubt they sold 5000 in just a few days. Stormer was not even able to get a 10.5 b/c they had sold them all direct.

A shipment will be arriving mid-late next week. All backorders will be filled first. If you would like you can put one on back order direct through Hacker Brushless USA or you can order one through your local hobbyshop. If your local hobbyshop does not carry Hacker motors they can become a dealer at any time.

Yes they generally like to be geared 1-2 teeth higher then the novak depending on track size.

You can post them in here or ask in the off-road forms. I will try my best to answer your questions or have one of our offroad drivers answer them.

The motors will work great with both sensorless and sensored escs. Depending on how quality the esc is will determine how well the motors is started. I dont think there are many sensorless escs that have figured out the startup just yet.

Hi Kyle,

Can you clarify the rating of the motors for me ?

If we take the Hacker 13.5 I see 2360Kv and 290 Watts.

for another non hacker 13.5 motor I see only 3,300 Kv '3 RPM/Volt 165Watts and another brand is 185watts

Can you explain why the vast difference to the Hacker motor from a wattage point of view?

Thanks

What is with all of the purple in r/c? These companies should do some research and they would discover that purple is a very polarizing color. Call it vain or whatever, but youre eliminating a large portion of your possible customer base by that color alone. Start making some blue rings, or just solid black maybe, and I bet sales would double overnight.

What are u a friggin interior designer! Does the motor color have to have POP! Who cares what friggin color the motor is Im gonna go out on a limb and say 98% percent of the guys who buy B/L motors buy them for how fast the are not the color. Why dont you take up needlepoint or painting by numbers.

Well, I just bought a Hacker 17.5, so it obviously doesnt bother me that much. Go back and read the posts where other people were asking if they can fit Novak rings on the Hacker, just to get rid of the purple. I'm just stating my case. I know many others agree with me whether they will admit it or not. Novak is changing the colors of their products because they said people were so "averse" to the orange and purple.
So you base all of your r/c purchases strictly on how they perform alone? You have never chose one product over another simply based on aesthetics? Or do you just have a complex or something and feel the need to attack me personally because I dont like purple? Just because you are too manly to admit that you dont try and match alike colors on your car doesnt mean everyone is.
